Abstract
In addition to the bath structures seen in ancient Greece, it is known that there were baths in Rome and they were built quite magnificently and large. While the baths were a place where people could clean their bodies, in history; In the Roman period, people saw it as a world where social, mental and emotional purification could occur, as well as a physical cleansing. It is seen that while these baths were built by the emperors, who were administrators, the notables of the people had the people with high economic income built. Looking at the spatial parts that make up the Roman baths, it functions as a kind of dressing cabin called Apodyterium, while in the Frigidarium, it is the coldest part of the bath and has a cold pool. Tepidarium, on the other hand, is the Laconicum Steamy sweating room where sweating and massage is done, and the Sudatorium steam bath is the Caldrium is the hottest part of the bath. There are hot pools in this section. The Destrictarium/Unctorium, which he named Heliocaminus, is the place where hot oil massage is done, while sunbathing is done in Heliocaminus. Finally, sports activities are held in Palestra.

Abstract
Antik Yunan’da görülen hamam yapılarının yanında Roma’da hamamların var olduğu ve oldukça görkemli ve büyük inşa edildikleri bilinmektedir. Hamamlar, kişilerin bedensel temizliklerini giderebildikleri bir yer olma özelliği taşırken tarihte; Roma döneminde insanların fiziksel olarak bir temizlenmenin yanında sosyal ve zihinsel, duygusal manada bir arınmanın söz konusu olabileceği bir dünya olarak görmüşlerdir. Bu hamamları yönetici vasfında olan imparatorlar yaptırırken halkın ileri gelenleri ekonomik geliri yüksek olan kişilerinde yaptırdığını görülmektedir. Roma hamamlarını meydana getiren mekânsal bölümlerine bakıldığında Apodyterium adı verilen bir nevi soyunma kabini işlevi görürken Frigidarium’da ise hamamın en soğuk bölümü olup soğuk havuza sahiptir. Tepidarium ise terleme ve masajın Sudatorium buhar banyosunun yapıldığı Laconicum Buharlı terleme odası olup Caldrium hamamın en sıcak bölümüdür. Bu bölümde sıcak havuzlar mevcuttur. Destrictarium/Unctorium, Heliocaminus isimlerini veridiği bölüm ise sıcak yağ ile masajın yapıldı mekânken Heliocaminus’ta güneş banyosu yapılır. Son olarak Palestra’da ise spor faaliyetleri yapılmaktadır.
