Abstract
Bu çalışmanın amacı eleştirel pedagoji açısından Sudbury Demokratik Değerler Okulu’nun incelenmesidir. Eleştirel pedagoji, Frankfurt Okulu’nun ortaya attığı eleştirel kuram sayesinde 1970’li yıllarda ortaya çıkmış bir eğitim hareketidir. Amacı insanın yaşadığı toplumda özgürleştirilmesi ilkesine dayanmaktadır. Bu ilke doğrultusunda dünyanın birçok yerinde alternatif eğitim veren okullar bulunmaktadır. Bunlardan bir tanesi de Sudbury Demokratik Değerler Okulu’dur. Sudbury Demokratik Değerler Okulu 1968 yılında ABD’de kurulmuştur. Günümüzde Belçika, Danimarka, Almanya ve Hollanda gibi ülkelerde eğitim faaliyetlerine devam etmektedir. Okulun kurucusu Daniel Greenberg’in eğitim ilkeleri okulun temel felsefesini oluşturmaktadır. Sudbury Okulu’nda belirli bir müfredatın ve sınavın olmaması okulun dikkat çekici özelliklerindendir. Okuldaki eğitimin ana noktasını oyun ve eleştirel düşünme oluşturmaktadır.

Abstract
The aim of this study is to examine the Sudbury Democratic Values School in terms of critical pedagogy. Critical pedagogy is an educational movement that emerged in the 1970s thanks to the critical theory put forward by the Frankfurt School. Aim of the critical pedagogy is based on the principle of the people’s emancipation which is the live in the society. There are schools providing that alternative education in many parts of the world in line with principle of the critical pedagogy. One of the these schools is Sudbury Democratic Values Schools. Sudbury Democratic Values Schools has been founded in 1968 in USA. It continues to education activities some countries today such as Belgium, Denmark, Germany and Holland. The educational principles of the school is based on the Daniel Greenberg who is the founder of the Sudbury Democratic Values School. The absence of the curriculum and exams interesting features at the Sudbury Democratic Values School. Play and critical thinking is main point of the education at the school
