Abstract
İşitme kaybı, geçmişten günümüze hayatlarımızda var olan bir sağlık problemidir. Bu sağlık problemi bazı kişilerde doğuştan meydana gelebildiği gibi bazı kişilerde de sonradan oluşabilmektedir. İşitme cihazları ve koklear implantın önemi geçmişten günümüze kadar olan süreçte işitme kaybı problemi yaşayan insanların seslere kavuşmasına yardımcı aygıtlar olmuştur. Tarihsel süreç çerçevesinde işitme cihazlarının ve koklear implantların kullanım biçimleri değişmiş ve farklı şekillerde çeşitlenmiştir. Bu aygıtlar sayesinde işitme kayıplı bireyler hayatlarını sürdürebilmekte ve her geçen gün daha kaliteli ve rahat bir şekilde seslere kavuşmaktadırlar. Bu makale, işitme cihazı ile koklear implantın, geçmişten günümüze kadar olan tarihsel sürecini incelemek için derleme şeklinde yazılmıştır. Aynı zamanda bu tarihsel süreçte meydana gelen değişimlerin hangi çeşitli etkenler üzerinden olduğunu ve bilim ile teknolojinin gelişmesinin buna etkisi gibi birçok ilişkileri incelemek için yazılmıştır. Böylece işitme kayıplı bireylerin sesleri duyabilmelerine ilham olan ilk işitme cihazı ile ilk koklear implantın kimin icat ettiğini ve nasıl, ne şekilde icat edildiği, tarihsel ve gelişim süreçleri hakkında bilgilere değinilmiştir.

Abstract
Hearing loss is a health problem that has existed in our lives from past to present. While this health problem may occur congenitally in some people, it may occur later in some people. Hearing aids and the importance of cochlear implants have been devices that help people who have hearing loss problems to reach voices from past to present. In the historical process, the use of hearing aids and cochlear implants has changed and diversified in different ways. Thanks to these devices, individuals with hearing loss can continue their lives and get better quality and comfortable sounds with each passing day. This article was written as a review to examine the historical process of hearing aid and cochlear implant from past to present. At the same time, it was written to examine the various factors through which the changes occurred in this historical process and the effects of the development of science and technology on this. Thus, information about who invented the first hearing aid and the first cochlear implant, which inspired individuals with hearing loss to hear sounds, how and how it was invented, and its historical and developmental processes are mentioned.
