Abstract
Bu çalışmada Georges Mathieu’nun Lirik Soyut resimlerinde mürekkep ve fırça ile yapmış olduğu çalışmaların otomatist ve kaligrafik eğilimler ile bu anlatım biçimine nasıl yön verdiği araştırılmıştır. Bu bağlamda Otomatizm ve Kaligrafi’nin Lirik Soyut resimlerle bağlantısı da irdelenmiştir. Lirik Soyut Resimde Mathieu, bireysel ve özgün anlatımlarını oluştururken, mürekkebi plastik öge olarak çalışmalarında kullanmış ve içsel tepkilerini bir tavır olarak ortaya koymuştur. Böylece saf duyguyu denetimsiz bir şekilde ifade etmek için, yüzeyde rastlantısal oluşumlara olanak veren bir materyal olan mürekkep ile çalışmalarına yön vermiştir. Lirik Soyut sanatçı olan Mathieu, ruhsal sezginin yarattığı maneviyatla kendiliğinden olana, kendi içindeki ben’e ulaşmıştır. Bu yöntemle oluşturulan çalışmalarda sanatçı; kural olmadan, rastgele görüntü içinde, herhangi bir sonuca dair hiçbir öngörüye dayanmayan ve tamamıyla sezgisel bir dışavurumla anlık olarak hareket etmiştir. Bu yoğunluk ve kendiliğindenliğin getirdiği anlık ve çok hızlı hareketlerin yüzeye aktarılmasını kaligrafik ögeler ve otomatizmle biçimlendiren resimleriyle Georges Mathieu’nun çalışmalarını inceleyerek, bu durumu materyal olarak mürekkep ile nasıl desteklediği ve nasıl bir anlayış sergilediği değerlendirilmiştir.

Abstract
In this study, it has been researched how Georges Mathieu's works with ink and brush in his Lyrical Abstract paintings gave direction to this style of expression with automatist and calligraphic tendencies. In this context, the connection of Automatism and Calligraphy with Lyrical Abstract paintings is also examined. In Lyrical Abstract Painting, Mathieu used ink as a plastic element in his works while creating his individual and original expressions and revealed his inner reactions as an attitude. Thus, he directed his work with ink, a material that allows random occurrences on the surface to express pure emotion in an uncontrolled way. Mathieu, a lyric abstract artist, has reached the spontaneous and the self within himself, with the spirituality created by spiritual intuition. In the works created with this method, the artist; it acted instantaneously without any rule, in a random image, with a completely intuitive expression that did not rely on any prediction of any outcome. By examining the works of Georges Mathieu with his paintings that shape the transfer of instant and very fast movements brought by this intensity and spontaneity to the surface with calligraphic elements and automatism, it is evaluated how he supports this situation with ink as a material and what kind of understanding he exhibits.
