Abstract
Günümüzde teknolojik gelişmelerin tekstil ve moda endüstrisi üzerinde güçlü bir etkisi vardır. Malzeme alanında en ileri seviyeyi temsil eden ürün grubu akıllı malzemelerdir. Temelde uzay, askeri, tıbbi ve spor amaçlı geliştirilen akıllı malzemeler pek çok farklı alanda olduğu gibi tekstil ve giysilere de uyarlanmıştır. Akıllı tekstiller ve giysiler herhangi bir etkiyi veya etki değişikliğini algılama ve buna tepki verme özelliğine sahip ürünleridir. Öncelikle işlevsel odaklı olarak geliştirilen akıllı tekstil malzemeleri, üretim yöntemlerindeki gelişmeler ve kullanım olanaklarının artması ile beraber günlük uygulamalarda da kullanılır hale gelmiştir. Tekstil ve moda tasarımcıları ile sanatçıların da bu malzemelere ilgi göstererek çalışmalarında kullanmaya başlamaları akıllı tekstil ve giysilere farklı bir bakış açısı getirmiştir. Teknolojik ve endüstriyel talepler akıllı giysi ve tekstiller için itici bir güç iken, sanat ve Haute Couture’da destekleyici bir rol üstlenmeye başlamıştır. Çeşitli moda gösterileri, kavramsal çalışmalar, giyilebilir sanat objeleri gibi pek çok alanda bu malzemelerden yararlanılmaktadır. Yapılan çalışmalar gelişmiş teknolojiye sahip bu yeni malzemelerin tasarım süreçleri açısından potansiyelini ortaya çıkarmış, alışılmışın dışındaki akıllı malzemelerin ürüne dönüşme süreçlerinde tasarımcılara önemli katkılar sunabildiğini göstermiştir. Bu çalışmada akıllı tekstil kavramı, sınıflandırılması ve tasarım uygulamaları incelenmiştir. Bu kapsamda akıllı tekstil malzemelerini ve giysileri tasarım nesnesi olarak kullanan çalışmalara değinilmiştir.

Abstract
Today, technological developments have a strong influence on the textile and fashion industry. The product group representing the most advanced level in the field of materials are smart materials. Mainly, smart materials have been developed for space, military, medical and sports applications then they are adapted to textiles and clothing as well as many other areas. Smart textiles and garments are products that have the ability to detect and respond to the surrounding environment in a predictable and useful manner. Smart textile materials, which are developed primarily as functional purposes, have been used in daily applications by the improvements in production methods and usage possibilities. Textile and fashion designers and artists have also shown interest in these materials and have started to use in their works. Technological and industrial demands are a driving force for smart garments and textiles and have begun to play a supporting role in art and Haute Couture. These materials are used in many areas such as various fashion shows, conceptual works, wearable art objects. The studies have revealed the potential of these new materials with advanced technology in terms of their design processes and showed that they can make important contributions to the designers in the process of transformation of non-traditional smart materials into products. In this study, smart textile concept, classification of smart textiles and design applications are examined. In this context, the use of smart textile materials and clothing as a design object is mentioned.
