Abstract

Mitler, geleneksel olarak yayılan veya toplumun hayal gücü etkisiyle biçim değiştiren alegorik bir anlatımı olan halk hikâyeleridir. Mitolojilerdeki mit ve semboller ile dünyanın ve hayatın kökeni, tabiat olayları, tanrılar, efsanevi kahramanlar ve ruhlar hakkındaki bilgiler verilmektedir. Tarihte her millet, kültürlerini, hayat tarzlarını, milli ve manevi bütün değerlerini mitlerle nesilden nesle aktararak canlılıklarını devam ettirmişlerdir. Geçmişte yaşanan bu pek çok olgu, milletlerin geleceğini de şekillendirmiştir. Köklü bir geçmişe sahip olan Türk mitolojisindeki pek çok simge ve sembol, bugün de yaşantımızın birçok alanında, kullanılmaya devam etmektedir. Türk sanatçılarının eserlerinde de bu simge ve semboller farklı renk, çizgi ve yorumlamayla karşımıza çıkmaktadır. Böylece toplumların tarihsel geçmişine ait izleri içerisinde barındıran bu mitolojik semboller, sosyal çevrenin yapısıyla şekillenirken, toplumundaki sanatçılarla da geleceğe taşınmaktadırlar. Ali Ertuğrul Küpeli Türk mitolojisindeki simge ve sembollerden etkilenerek eserlerinde kullanan sanatçılarımızdan birisidir. Çalışmamızda sanatçı Küpeli’nin mitolojide bulunan simge ve sembolleri kullanarak oluşturduğu yedi eserini analiz edip yorumlaya çalışacağız.

Abstract

Myths are folk tales with allegorical expressions which are traditionally spread or transformed with the effect of the imagination of society. Through the myths and symbols in the mythology, information about the roots of the world and life, natural events, gods, legendary heroes, and souls are given. In history, every nation has maintained their vitality for generations by transferring their culture, lifestyle, national and moral values with their myths. Many of these past events have shaped the future of the nations. Many symbols and signs in Turkish mythology, which have a long-standing history, are continued to be used in numerous areas of our lives to this day. In the works of Turkish artists, we find these symbols and signs with different colors, lines and interpretations. In this manner, while these mythological symbols, which are included in the traces of the historical past of the societies, are shaped by the structure of the social circle, they are carried into the future with the artists in the society. Ali Ertuğrul Küpeli is one of our artists who is influenced by symbols and signs in Turkish mythology and used them in his works. In our study, we will try to analyze and interpret seven works of artist Mr. Küpeli which he created using symbols and signs in mythology.
