Abstract
Avrupa Birliği ekonomik önceliklerle kurulan ancak daha sonra siyasal bütünleşmeye yönelen uluslar üstü bir örgütlenmedir. Birliğin temel kuruluş amacı savaş sonrası yıkılan Avrupa ekonomisini tekrar ayağa kaldırmak olduğundan, siyasal bütünleşmeye yönelik adımlarda eksiklikler dikkat çekmektedir. Gerek sosyal politikaların kıtasal bütünlükte uygulanması, gerekse Avrupa vatandaşlığı tanımının kabullenilmesi konusunda önemli eksiklikler göze çarpmaktadır. Bu çalışmanın amacı, tüm söylemlerinde demokrasi vurgusu yapan Avrupa Birliği’nin bu alanda yaşadığı sorunları, seçimlere katılım ve Avrupalı hissetme gibi konularda elde edilen sayısal veriler ile ortaya koymaktır.

Abstract
The European Union is a transnational organization that was founded with economic priorities but then turned to political integration. The lack of steps in political integration is drawing attention because the union is aiming to revitalize the European economy, which has been destroyed after the main post-war period. Both the application of social policies in continental integration and the need to accept the definition of European citizenship have been hampered by significant shortcomings. The aim of this study is to reveal the problems of the European Union, which emphasizes democracy in all its rhetoric, with the numerical data obtained from the issues such as participation in elections and feeling of Europe.
