Araştırmanın amacı, fen bilgisi, sosyal bilgiler ve sınıf öğretmeni adaylarının mikroplastik kirliliği farkındalıklarının belirlenmesi ve mikroplastik kirliliği farkındalıklarını bazı demografik özelliklere göre incelemektir. Araştırma tarama modelinde gerçekleştirilmiş olup, araştırmanın örneklemini, 2023-2024 bahar döneminde Erciyes Üniversitesinde öğrenim gören, kolay ulaşılabilir örneklem yöntemiyle belirlenen 528 öğretmen adayı oluşturmuştur. Güleşir (2021) tarafından geliştirilen “Mikroplastik Kirliliği Farkındalık Ölçeği” veri toplama aracı olarak kullanılmıştır. Elde edilen veriler SPSS 23 paket programı ile analiz edilmiştir. Araştırma bulgularına göre fen bilgisi, sınıf ve sosyal bilgiler öğretmen adaylarının mikroplastik kirliliği farkındalıklarının orta düzeyde olduğu; cinsiyet değişkenine göre ölçeğin geneli ile mikroplastik kirliliğinin önlenmesine yönelik ve mikroplastik kirliliğinin insan sağlığına etkilerine yönelik farkındalık alt boyutunda; sınıf düzeyi değişkenine göre ölçeğin geneli ile mikroplastik kirliliğinin insan sağlığına etkilerine yönelik farkındalık alt boyutunda; çevre eğitimi dersi alma durumu değişkenine göre ölçeğin geneli ile mikroplastik kirliliğinin canlılar üzerindeki etkilerine yönelik farkındalık ve mikroplastik kirliliğinin insan sağlığına etkilerine yönelik farkındalık alt boyutlarında istatistiksel oranda anlamlı bir farklılık gösterdiği ancak bölüm değişkenine göre ölçeğin geneli ve tüm alt boyutlarında istatistiksel oranda anlamlı bir farklılık göstermediği sonucuna ulaşılmıştır. Araştırma sonuçlarında hareketle öğretmen adaylarının mikroplastik kirliliği konusunda ciddi olarak bilinçlendirilmesi ve hizmet içi eğitimlerin düzenlenmesi önerilmektedir. |

The aim of the research is to determine the awareness of microplastic pollution among candidates for science, social studies, and classroom teachers, and to examine this awareness according to certain demographic characteristics. The research was conducted using a survey model, and the sample of the study consisted of 528 teacher candidates who were determined using a convenience sampling method during the spring semester of 2023-2024 at Erciyes University. The "Microplastic Pollution Awareness Scale," developed by Güleşir (2021), was used as the data collection tool. The obtained data were analyzed using the SPSS 23 software package. According to the research findings, the awareness of microplastic pollution among science, classroom, and social studies teacher candidates is at a moderate level. It was found that there is a statistically significant difference based on the gender variable in the overall scale and in the sub-dimensions related to the prevention of microplastic pollution and its effects on human health. Additionally, a statistically significant difference was observed based on the class level variable in the overall scale and in the sub-dimension related to the effects of microplastic pollution on human health. Furthermore, regarding the variable of taking environmental education courses, there were statistically significant differences in the overall scale and in the sub-dimensions related to the effects of microplastic pollution on living organisms and its effects on human health. However, no statistically significant differences were found in the overall scale and all sub-dimensions based on the department variable. Based on the research results, it is recommended that teacher candidates be seriously educated about microplastic pollution and that in-service training programs be organized. |
