Abstract
Bu araştırmanın amacı, İslam tasavvuf düşüncesinde en sık kullanılan metaforlardan biri olan aynanın, İngiliz-Hint asıllı sanatçı Anish Kapoor’un Islami Ayna adlı yapıtı bağlamında çağdaş heykel sanatının yeni anlam çerçevesinde ne tür çağrışımlar yarattığını sorgulamak ve düşünsel bir iletişim sisteminin somut bir ifade diline dönüşümünü incelemektir. İnsan ve Tanrı arasındaki ilişkide bir tür arabulucu olarak konumlanan ayna sembolizmi, birçok din, felsefi ve mistik inanış sistemlerinde olduğu gibi İslam’da da önemli bir yer edinmiş, kalbin tefekküründen sessizliğin korunmasına, düşüncenin yokluğundan kişinin doğasını görmesine kadar uzanan birçok süreçte başat bir simge olmuştur. Bir yanıyla Doğulu diğer yanıyla Batılı bir kimliğe sahip olan Anish Kapoor, üretimlerinde özellikle Doğu’nun kültürel verilerini Batı’nın çağdaş sanat terminolojisiyle yeniden üretme pratiğine sahiptir. Kapoor’un bu bağlamda ele aldığı ve kültürel veri kullanımı bakımından en sembolik yapıtlarından biri olan Islami Ayna, İslam tasavvufundaki ilahi birlik ve vahdet-i vücud kavramlarıyla felsefi, mistik ve içşel bir yakınlık kurarak heykel sanatının anlam ve ifade olanaklarını yeni boyutlara taşımaktadır.

Abstract
The aim of this research is to question what kind of connotations the mirror, which is one of the most frequently used metaphors in Islamic mysticism, creates in the context of the new meaning of contemporary sculpture art in the context of British-Indian artist Anish Kapoor's work called Islamic Mirror, and to examine the transformation of an intellectual communication system into a concrete expression language. is to examine. Mirror symbolism, which is positioned as a kind of mediator in the relationship between man and God, has an important place in Islam, as in many religions, philosophical and mystical belief systems, and has become a dominant symbol in many processes ranging from contemplation of the heart to maintaining silence, from the absence of thought to seeing one's nature. . Anish Kapoor, who has an Eastern identity on one side and a Western identity on the other, has the practice of reproducing the cultural data of the East, especially with the contemporary art terminology of the West, in her productions. Islamic Mirror, one of Kapoor's most symbolic works in terms of the use of cultural data, carries the meaning and expression possibilities of sculpture to new dimensions by establishing a philosophical, mystical and inner affinity with the concepts of divine unity and unity of existence in Islamic mysticism.
