Abstract
2007 yılının ikinci yarısında başlayıp, 2008 yılında ivme kazanan ve 2009’un başlarında şiddetinin azalmaya başladığı ancak günümüzde de devam ettiği küresel finansal kriz, 1929 dünya ekonomik krizinden sonra yaşanan en büyük finansal kriz olarak görülmektedir. Piyasalardaki finansal açıklara bağlı olarak ortaya çıkan kriz aynı zamanda, Uluslararası Para Fonu’nun (IMF) da söz konusu krizlere çözüm bulma noktasındaki etkinliğini tartışmaya açmıştır. Yapılan eleştiriler sonucunda IMF, kendi içinde 2009’lu yıllarda birtakım değişiklikler yapmaya çalışmıştır. Bu bağlamda çalışmada, önce kriz hakkında teorik bilgi verilmiş, daha sonra ise IMF’nin başlattığı reform çalışmaları değerlendirilmiştir.

Abstract
The global financial crisis, which began in the second half of 2007, gained momentum in 2008, and whose violence began to decline in early 2009, but continues today, is seen as the biggest financial crisis after the world economic crisis of 1929. At the same time, the crisis that emerged due to the financial deficits in the markets has opened the International Monetary Fund (IMF) to discuss the effectiveness of the solution to the crisis. As a result of the criticisms made, the IMF has begun reform studies since 2009 in itself. In this context, theoretical information about the crisis was given first, then the IMF reform initiatives were evaluated.
