Abstract

Dijital dünyanın ve sanal yaşamın hızla yaşama entegre olmasıyla birlikte gençlerimiz ve ergenlerimiz hızla değişimler yaşayarak çağın bazı gerçekleriyle karşı karşıya kalmaktadır. 21. yüzyılda genç nüfusa, sorun niteliğinde olan davranışlar gösterme olasılıklarını azaltmak için daha fazla olumlu yönde yaşamsal-gelişimsel deneyimler kazanmaları açısından fırsatlar sunulması, becerilerinin geliştirilmesi, içinde bulundukları gelişim çağına uygun bir rota çizmeleri, sosyal-duygusal yeterlilikler, ruh sağlığı açısından önem arz etmektedir. Sadece vatandaşlık yaşamının ve sosyal bütünlüğün kalitesini korumak için değil, aynı zamanda çocukların ve gençlerin sağlıklı, üretken ve özerk yetişkinlere dönüşmesini sağlamak için de yaşam becerileri önemlidir. Gençliği “yönetilmesi gereken problemler” şeklinde gören eksiklik yaklaşımından, “geliştirilecek kaynaklar” olarak gören pozitif bir gençlik geliştirme perspektifine geçildiğinde; yetişkinliğe başarılı bir geçiş, yalnızca uyuşturucu, alkol, erken cinsel deneyim, şiddet ve diğer riskli davranışlardan uzak durmaktan çok daha fazlasını gerektirmektedir. POZGEL (Pozitif Gençlik Gelişimi); pozitif psikoloji hareketine dayanan, eksiklik ve yetersizlik yerine bireylerin yeteneklerine, güç kaynaklarına, beceri ve potansiyellerine odaklanan bütünsel bir yaklaşımdır. Gençlerin, riskli davranışlardan kaçınmasının yanı sıra, üretken ve mutlu yetişkin yaşamları sürdürebilmeleri adına da birçok olumlu nitelik, beceri, yetkinlikle donatılmasını gerektirmektedir. Bu derlemede, POZGEL hakkında bilgi, ana unsurları ve temel bileşenleri, modelleri, POZGEL programları ve bu yaklaşımın gençlerdeki riskli davranışlar bağlamında değerlendirilmesi sunulmaktadır.

Abstract

With the rapid integration of the digital world and virtual life into life, our youth and adolescents experience rapid changes and face some realities of the age. As we become a traumatic country, our youth and adolescents face multiple challenges. In the 21st century, it is important for the young population to be provided with opportunities to gain more positive life-developmental experiences in order to reduce their probability of displaying problematic behaviors, to develop their skills, to draw a route suitable for their developmental age, social-emotional competencies, and mental health. Life skills are important not only to maintain the quality of civic life and social cohesion, but also to enable children and young people to develop into healthy, productive and autonomous adults. Moving from a deficiency approach that sees youth as "problems to be managed" to a positive youth development perspective that sees them as "resources to be developed"; Successful transition to adulthood requires more than just abstaining from drugs, alcohol, early sexual experience, violence and other risky behaviors. Positive Youth Development; it is a holistic approach based on the positive psychology movement, focusing on the talents, power sources, skills and potentials of individuals instead of lack and inadequacy. In addition to avoiding risky behaviors, young people need to be equipped with many positive qualities, skills and competencies in order to lead productive and happy adult lives. In this review, information about Positive Youth Development, its main elements and components, models, programs and the evaluation of this approach in the context of risky behaviors in young people are presented.
