Abstract
İstanbul, tarih boyunca jeopolitik ve jeostratejik öneme sahip olmuş bir mega kenttir. Tarihte üç büyük imparatorluğa başkentlik yapmış olması, Asya ve Avrupa kıtaları arasında bir köprü görevi görmesi, ipek ve baharat yollarının merkezinde bulunması ne derece önemli bir kent olduğunun en açık göstergelerindendir. Küreselleşme ile ülkeler arası ticari sınırların ortadan kalkması ile birlikte stratejik öneme sahip kentlerde ticari faaliyetlerin artması ve bu kentlerin lojistik merkez olarak kullanılması lojistik sektörünün gelişimi ve sürdürülebilirliği için oldukça önemlidir. İstanbul’da tarih boyunca lojistik merkez olarak gerek askeri gerekse ticari olarak aktif rol almış bir şehirdir. Günümüzde İstanbul’un stratejik önemi sayesinde büyük yatırımlar almış ve kamu özel işbirliği çerçevesinde mega projelere ev sahipliği yapmaktadır. İstanbul için mega projelerin en büyüğü olarak nitelendirilen Kanal İstanbul su yolu projesi ile kente yapay bir boğaz kazandırılacaktır. Bu çalışmada lojistik merkezler, mega projeler ve Kanal İstanbul hakkında geniş bir literatür taraması yapılmıştır. Bu konularla ilgili yayınlanmış kitap, dergi, makale, rapor, internet siteleri, yayımlanmış tez ve bazı araştırma sonuçlarıyla ilgili istatistiksel verilere ulaşılmıştır. Bu çalışmalar ve veriler incelenmiş çalışmamızda kullanılmak üzere değerlendirilmiştir. Sonuç olarak Kanal İstanbul projesine entegre bir lojistik merkez modeli önerisi sunulmuştur.

Abstract
Istanbul is a mega city that has had geopolitical and geostrategic importance throughout history. The fact that it was the capital of three great empires in history, that it served as a bridge between the continents of Asia and Europe, and that it was at the center of the silk and spice routes are the clearest indicators of how important a city it is. With the disappearance of commercial borders between countries with globalization, the increase in commercial activities in strategically important cities and the use of these cities as logistics centers are very important for the development and sustainability of the logistics sector. Throughout history, Istanbul is a city that has taken an active role as a logistics center, both militarily and commercially. Today, thanks to the strategic importance of Istanbul, it has received large investments and hosts mega projects within the framework of public-private cooperation. With the Kanal Istanbul waterway project, which is described as the biggest of the mega projects for Istanbul, an artificial strait will be added to the city.In this study, a wide literature review was made about logistics centers, mega projects and Kanal Istanbul. Statistical data on published books, journals, articles, reports, websites, published thesis and some research results on these subjects were obtained. These studies and data were analyzed and evaluated for use in our study. As a result, an integrated logistics center model proposal was presented to the Kanal Istanbul project.
