Abstract
Bu çalışmanın amacı, Özel Güvenlik sektörünün gelişmesinin temel sebeplerinden biri olan, ulusal güvenlik alanına katkısının Türkiye’de hangi aşamada olduğunun irdelenmesi ve özel güvenlik sektörünün bu anlamda hangi aşamada olduğunun araştırılmasıdır. Bu doğrultuda Özel güvenlik sektörünün doğuşu, ulusal güvenlik kavramının irdelenmesi ve genel kolluk, genel kolluğa yardımcı birim olarak özel güvenliğin mevcut durumu ele alınarak, Türkiye’de ulusal güvenlik açısından bakıldığında özel güvenliğin yeri ve önemi üzerinde durulacaktır. Ulus devletlerin genel anlamda güvenlik işini, genel kolluğun kontrolünden alıp, özel güvenliğinde içinde bulunduğu yeni bir yapıya bırakması kolay karşılaşılacak bir durum olmamakla birlikte, dönemin şartları, küreselleşmenin etkisi, nüfus artışı, kentleşme, siteleşme, sanayileşme vb. faktörler kaçınılmaz olarak yeni ve destekleyici bir güvenlik hizmetini zorunlu kılmıştır. Sancılı bir sürecin sonucu olsa da kaçınılmaz olarak ulus devletler güvenlik işini farklı bir birim ile desteklemek zorunda kalmışlardır. Çalışma özel güvenlik sektörünün Ulusal güvenliğe katkılarının araştırılıp hangi alanlara tesir ettiğinin incelendiği bir çalışmadır

Abstract
