Abstract

Bu çalışmanın amacı, Social Sciences Citation Index’te (SSCI) taranan turizm dergileri üzerinde turizm eğitimine yönelik bir durum tespiti yapmaktır. Bu amaçla 1981-2017 yılları arasında “Annals of Tourism Research, Journal of Hospitality and Tourism Management, Journal of Hospitality, Leisure,Sport& Tourism Education, International Journal of Hospitality Management ve Tourism Management” dergilerinde yayınlanan sayılar içerik analizi ile incelenmiş, turizm eğitimi konusuna gösterilen ilgi yıllara göre tespit edilmiştir.

Çalışma sonucunda, turizm eğitimine ilişkin uygulamalı turizm eğitimi, müfredat geliştirme, online turizm eğitimi ve öğrenci motivasyonu konularının öne çıktığı görülmüştür. Nadir çalışılan ve en az ilgi gören konular ise, siyasetin turizm eğitimine etkisi, öğrenci sadakati, sürdürülebilir turizm ve kültürel mirasa öğrencilerin bakış açısı ve turizm akademisyenlerinin profili konularıdır.

Abstract

The objective of this study is to assess a case for tourism education on the tourism journals cited in the Social Sciences Citation Index (SSCI). For this purpose, "Journal of Hospitality and Tourism Management, Journal of Hospitality, Leisure, Sport & Tourism Education, International Journal of Hospitality Management and Tourism Management" journals were examined by content analysis between the years 1981-2017 and the interest on tourism education has been determined according to these years.

As a result of the study, practical tourism education, curriculum development, online tourism education and student motivation related to tourism education came to the forefront. The subjects that are rarely studied and least interested are the influence of the politics on tourism education, student loyalty, the student approach on sustainable tourism and cultural heritage and profiles of tourism academicians.
