Abstract
Bu çalışmada kariyer basamakları yönünden uzman öğretmen/başöğretmen unvanını elde etme konusunda eğitim çalışanlarının sınava katılım motivasyonları tespit edilmeye çalışılmıştır. Araştırma tarama yönteminde olup veriler açık uçlu yarı yapılandırılmış sorulardan oluşan anket ile toplanmıştır. Araştırmanın erişimi kolay örnekleme metodu uygulanmasına karşın farklı branş ve kıdemdeki öğretmenlerin örnekleme dahil edilmesi için özel bir çaba verilmiştir. Buna göre araştırmanın örneklemi 158 öğretmen ve 22 uzman öğretmenden oluşmaktadır.
Yapılan çalışmada anket sorularına gelen cevaplar içerik analizi yöntemi ile incelenmiştir. Araştırmanın bulgularına göre, okullarda kariyer basamakları uygulamalarına eğitim-öğretim alanında çalışan öğretmen ve uzman öğretmenlerin ilgi gösterdiği görülmüştür. Katılımcıları sınava girmeye yönelten başlıca motivasyonun ekonomik katkı olduğu, ikinci olarak da unvan kazanma geldiği bulgulanmıştır.

Abstract
In this study, it has been done to determine the motivation of education employees to participate in the exam in terms of obtaining the title of expert teacher/head teacher in terms of career steps. The research is in the scanning method and the data were collect by a questionnaire consist of open-ended semi-structured questions. Although the easy-to-access sampling method of the research was applied, a special effort was made to include teachers from different branches and seniority in the sample. Accordingly, the sample of the study consists of 158 teachers and 22 expert teachers.In the study, the answers given to the survey questions were consisted by content analysis method. According to the dones of the study, it was seen that teachers and specialist teachers worked in the field of education showed interest in career steps in schools. It has been found that the main motivation that leads the participants to take the exam is the economic contribution, and secondly, to gain a title
