Abstract
Daha erken yaşta reşit olma durumu dışında, 18 yaşına kadar tüm bireyler çocuk sayılmaktadır. Aile ise, ilk iletişimin, ilk deneyimlerin gerçekleştirildiği ve hayatın en önemli dönemlerinin beraber geçirildiği bir ortamdır. Yaşamın ilk yılında güvenilir, ihtiyaçları zamanında karşılanan bir ortamda yetişen bireylerin topluma uyum süreleri de daha kısa olmaktadır. Böylelikle çocuklar aile tarafından temelleri atılan toplumun devamının sağlanmasını kolaylaştıracaktır. Toplumsal yapıda meydana gelen değişmeler farklı aile yapılarının ortaya çıkmasında etkili olmuştur. Eski çağlardan günümüze kadar olan dönemde meydana gelen değişim ve gelişmeler çocuk ve çocukluk kavramlarının keşfinde de etkili olmuştur. Toplum yapısındaki değer ve normlarda meydana gelen değişmeler, sosyalleşme, küreselleşme, sanayileşme, oyun, oyuncaklar ve diğer birçok faktör çocuk imgelerinin, oyunların, oyuncakların değişmesine yani toplumsal değişimlere de neden olmaktadır. Günümüzde meydana gelen teknolojik gelişmeler beraberinde sanal ortamda oynanan oyunların yaygınlaşmasını getirmiştir. Özellikle okul öncesi dönem çocuklarının öğrenmesinde rol model almanın önemli bir yerinin olması çocukların televizyon, bilgisayar gibi sanal ortamlardan daha çok ve hızlı etkilenmesine neden olabilmektedir. Toplumsal değişim sürecinin çocukları olumsuz etkilemesinin önüne geçilebilmesi için yasal düzenlemelerin ve aile eğitimlerinin artırılması önemli bir unsurdur.

All individuals up to the age of 18 are considered children, except in the case of coming of age at an earlier age. The family, on the other hand, is an environment where the first communication, first experiences are made and the most important periods of life are spent together. In the first year of life, individuals who grow up in a reliable environment where their needs are met in a timely manner also have a shorter period of adaptation to society. Thus, children will facilitate the continuation of the society whose foundations were laid by the family. Changes in the social structure have been effective in the emergence of different family structures. The changes and developments that have occurred in the period from ancient times to the present have also been influential in the discovery of the concepts of child and childhood. Changes in the values and norms in the social structure, socialization, globalization, industrialization, games, toys and many other factors cause changes in children's images, games and toys, that is, social changes. Today's technological developments have brought along the spread of games played in the virtual environment. The fact that role modeling has an important place in the learning of preschool children, in particular, may cause children to be affected more and more quickly by virtual environments such as television and computers. In order to prevent the social change process from affecting children negatively, it is important to increase legal regulations and family education.
