Abstract
Bu çalışma, yazının tarihsel gelişimini, geçmişimizden günümüze kadar geldiği noktayı irdelemiştir. Bulgular tarafından bilenen insanoğlunun yazıyı ilk kullandığı düşünülen mağara döneminden başlayarak günümüzdeki basılı ve dijital mecralarda kullanılan yazının süreci araştırılmış ve dönemin etkenlerine göre yazının gelişimi incelenmiştir.
Çalışma kapsamında Türklerin yazı tarihi ayrı bir konu başlığında incelenmiş ve geçmişimizden günümüze Türklerin kullandıkları dil ve alfabelerin kullanımları ve gelişimleri araştırılmıştır. Araştırmaların sonucunda bulunan veriler ve bilgiler doğrultusunda Türk tarihi boyunca Türklerin kendilerine özgü birçok dil ve alfabeyi kullandıkları ortaya çıkmış fakat dünya genelinde günümüz şartlarına uygun Türkleri yansıtacak bir yazı karakteri tasarımı olmadığı görülmüştür.
Çalışmanın son bölümünde Türklerin yerel kültürünü düşünerek kendine özgü sanat ve kültürünü yansıtacak ve bunu yaparken çini sanatından ilham alınarak Helvetica yazı karakterini kullanarak tasarlanacak deneysel bir font tasarımı uygulanmış ve bunun sürecinden bahsedilmiştir. Çalışma sonucunda Türklerin kendi kültürlerini yansıtabilecekleri dijital ve basılı mecralarda kullanabilecekleri bir yazı tipi sunulmuştur.

Abstract
This study has examined the historical development of writing and the point it has reached from our past to the present. Starting from the cave period, which is thought to have been the first use of writing by humankind, known by the findings, the process of writing used in today's printed and digital media has been researched and the development of writing according to the factors of the period has been examined.
Within the scope of the study, the history of writing of the Turks was examined under a separate topic, and the use and development of the languages and alphabets used by the Turks from our past to the present were investigated. In line with the data and information found as a result of the research, it has been revealed that the Turks have used many languages and alphabets unique to them throughout Turkish history, but it has been seen that there is no typeface design that will reflect the Turks in accordance with today's conditions in the world.
In the last part of the study, an experimental font design that will reflect the unique art and culture of the Turks by considering the local culture and while doing this, using the Helvetica font inspired by the art of tiles, was applied and the process of this was mentioned. As a result of the study, a font that Turks can use in digital and printed media where they can reflect their own culture has been presented.
