Abstract
Türkiye coğrafyasında birçok aktif fay hattı bulunmaktadır. Bu sebeple eskiçağdan günümüze kadar Türkiye’de çok sayıda deprem meydana gelmiştir. Bu depremlerin önemli bir kısmını ciddi hasarlara ve kayıplara neden olan büyük depremler oluşturmaktadır. 6 Ekim 1964 tarihinde meydana gelen 7.0 büyüklüğündeki Manyas depremi de Türkiye’deki şiddetli depremler arasında kabul edilmektedir. Manyas depremi, Türkiye’nin batısında geniş bir sahayı etkilemiştir. Depremin büyüklüğü ve şiddetine oranla can kaybı çok fazla olmamasına rağmen maddi açıdan ciddi kayıplar yaşanmıştır. Manyas depreminin yansımaları ve etkilerinin konu edinildiği çalışmada bu afet sonrasındaki yardım faaliyetleri ve alınan tedbirler ile neticeleri de tetkik edilmeye gayret edilmiş ve bu çerçevede bir değerlendirme yapılmaya çalışılmıştır.

Abstract
There are many active fault lines in the geography of Türkiye. For this reason, many earthquakes have occurred in Türkiye from ancient times to the present day. A significant part of these earthquakes are large earthquakes that cause serious damage and losses. The 7.0 magnitude Manyas earthquake that occurred on October 6, 1964 is also considered one of the severe earthquakes in Türkiye. The Manyas earthquake affected a large area in the west of Türkiye. Although the loss of life was not very high compared to the magnitude and severity of the earthquake, serious financial losses were experienced. In this study, which focuses on the repercussions and effects of the Manyas earthquake, the post-disaster relief activities, the measures taken and the results has been also tried to be examined and an evaluation has been tried to be made within this framework.
