Abstract

Abstract

One of the events that marked the political and social life of the Ottoman Empire in the first half of the 19th century is the Greek Revolt of 1821. This revolt was organized by the Filiki Eterya Society and was first launched in Wallachia-Boğdan, but was not successful and moved to the Peloponnese. The fact that the population was mostly Greeks here caused the revolt to grow and become stronger in a short time. The diplomatic pressures of the European states and their aid to the rebels increased the weight of this issue for the Ottoman Empire. Although many works were written about this rebellion movement in Turkey in the following years, there are hardly any works that describe the rebellion and the rebels from the inside. With this study, it was tried to look at the rebels and the rebellion from the inside.
