Abstract
İnsanlığın başlangıcından bugüne bir değerlendirme biçimi olarak da kullanılan medeniyet kavramı yaşam tarzı veya standardını belirleyen ve değerlendirme sonuçlarını yansıtmaktadır. Bu kavramın öğretmen adaylarında oluşturduğu algının çeşitli değişkenler açısından incelenmesi bu araştırmanın amacını oluşturmaktadır. Tarama modelinin kullanıldığı bu araştırmanın evrenini, İnönü ve Atatürk Üniversiteleri Eğitim Fakültelerinde eğitim gören öğrenciler oluşturmaktadır. Örneklem grubunu ise İnönü ve Atatürk Üniversiteleri Eğitim Fakültelerinde öğrenim gören lisans öğrencileri arasından “Basit Seçkisiz Örnekleme” yöntemi kullanılarak belirlenen 500 öğrenci oluşturmaktadır. Araştırmaya ilişkin bulguları elde etmek amacıyla “medeniyet kavramı algı ölçeği” kullanılmıştır. Yapılan araştırmanın sonucunda öğretmen adaylarının medeniyet kavramına ilişkin algılarının yüksek ve birbirine benzer olduğu belirlenmiştir. Bununla birlikte araştırmada öğretmen adaylarının medeniyet kavramına ilişkin algıları arasında “cinsiyet” değişkenine göre “Kapsam” ve “Evrensel” boyutlarında bir farklılık belirlenirken; “Tarihsel” boyutunda istatistikî açıdan anlamlı farklılığın olmadığı gözlemlenmiştir. Ayrıca cinsiyet değişkenine göre öğretmen adaylarının konuya ilişkin bakış açıları arasında farklılık bulunduğu “Kapsam” boyutunda anlamlı farklılık kadınların lehine iken “Evrensel” boyutunda anlamlı farklılık erkeklerin lehine olduğu belirlenmiştir. Araştırma sonucunda öğrenim görülen sınıf ve bölüm değişkenleri açısından da anlamlı farklılığın olduğu boyutlar belirlenmiştir.

Abstract
The concept of civilization, which has also been used as a form of assessment since the beginning of humanity, reflects the results of the assessment that determines the lifestyle or standard. The purpose of this research is to examine the perception of this concept in prospective teachers in terms of various variables. The universe of this research, in which screening model is used, is the students who are educated in İnönü and Atatürk Universities Education Faculties. The sample group consists of 500 students who are selected from the undergraduate students at the Education Faculties of İnönü and Atatürk Universities, using the "Simple random sampling" method. In order to obtain the findings related to the research, “civilization concept perception scale” was used. As a result of the research, it was determined that pre-service teachers' perceptions of the concept of civilization are high and similar. However, in the research, while a difference was determined between the perceptions of teacher candidates regarding the concept of civilization in terms of “gender” in terms of “Scope” and “Universal”; It was observed that there was no statistically significant difference in the “historical” dimension. In addition, there was a significant difference in the “Scope” dimension, in which there was a difference between the pre-service teachers' perspectives on the subject, and a significant difference in the “Universal” dimension was in favor of men. As a result of the research, the dimensions in which there are significant differences in terms of the class and department variables studied were determined.
