Abstract
Cumhuriyet dönemi Türk Tiyatrosu tarihine sayısız kostüm tasarımı uygulamaları ile adını yazdırmış olan Hale Eren, özellikle Şehir Tiyatroları ve Devlet Tiyatroları’nın aranan sanatçısı olarak çok sayıda ödüle de layık görülmüştür. Ağırlıklı olarak Osmanlı dönemini konu alan tarihsel oyunlar için kostüm tasarlayan Eren, opera, bale ve müzikaller için de kostüm tasarımları yapmıştır. Hale Eren’in tasarımları öncelikle titiz bir ön araştırma ve dramaturgi çalışmasından sonra oyunun anlamı ve tüm görsel unsurları birlikte hesaplanarak biçim kazanmıştır. Sanatçının köstüm tasarımı anlayışı, başta oyun metni olmak üzere, oyunun rejisi, sahne dekoru tasarımı, oyun kişisi ve o kişiyi canlandıracak olan oyuncunun özellikleri, oyunda kullanılacak olan ışığın özellikleri ve kullanılacak olan malzemenin seçimi gibi çok yönlü ve eşgüdümlü bir çalışmayı gerektirmiştir. Eren, tasarım ve uygulamalarında sanat anlayışı ve çalışma prensipleri kadar eğitimci kimliği ile de Türk Tiyatrosu uygulama alanında örnek ve yol gösterici bir sanatçı olmuştur. Bu çalışma ile sanatçının tasarım sürecini, tiyatronun diğer unsurları ile ilişkili olarak nasıl ele aldığı, aşamalarıyla kostüm tasarımı sürecinde kullandığı yöntemleri, gerçekleştirilmiş uygulamalarından örneklerle ortaya konacaktır.

Abstract
Hale Eren, who has written her name in the history of Turkish Theater in the Republican era with her numerous costume design practices, has also been deemed worthy of many awards, especially as the sought-after performer of the City Theaters and the State Theatres. Eren, who designs costumes for historical plays mainly about the Ottoman period, has also designed costumes for opera, ballet and musicals. Hale Eren's designs were formed by calculating the meaning of the play and all its visual elements together, after a meticulous preliminary research and dramaturgy work. The costume design concept of the artist necessitated a versatile and coordinated work, especially the text of the play, the director of the play, the stage decoration design, the character of the play and the characteristics of the actor/actrist who will portray that person, the characteristics of the light to be used in the play and the selection of the material to be used. Eren has been an exemplary and guiding artist in the field of Turkish Theater practice, with her educational identity as well as her understanding of art and working principles in her design and applications. With this study, how the artist handles the design process in relation to the other elements of the theater, the stages she uses in the costume design process, and examples from her realized applications will be revealed.
