Abstract
Volkanik kökenli bir ada olan Negros, Filipin takımadalarının 3. ve dünyanın 62. en büyük yüzölçümüne sahip adasıdır. Negros tehlikeli volkanlarıyla, şifalı kaplıcalarıyla, sulak mangrov ormanlarıyla, ıssız plajlarıyla, gizemli mağaralarıyla ve görkemli şelaleleriyle ünnlenmiş, dağlık ve engebeli bir adadır. Büyük metropol kentlerden yoksun olan bu seyrek nüfuslu ada idari yönden Batı Negros ve Doğu Negros eyaletlerinden oluşur.Bu çalışmada Visayas Grubu Adaları içinde yer alan Negros adasının coğrafi konumu, coğrafi özellikleri, turizm çekicilikleri ve turizm potansiyeli tartışılmıştır. Çalışmada hem adanın başlıca kentleri, volkanları, şelaleleri, plajları ve doğa kuruma alanları hem de tarihsel-kültürel çekicilikleri ile başlıca turizm merkezleri kısaca irdelenmiştir. Hem turizm coğrafyası hem de bölgesel coğrafya odaklı bu araştırmanın öncelikli amacı ülkemizde pek bilinmeyen Negros adasının turizm potansiyelini Türkiye’deki okuyuculara tanıtmaktır.

Abstract
Negros, one of the most beautiful, largest and most interesting islands in the Philippines, is also the country's one of the most important tourism centres. As a volcanic-origin island, Negros, is the 3rd largest island in the Philippine archipelago and the 62nd largest in the world.Famous for its world-famous diving centres, magnificent waterfalls, secluded beaches and virgin tropical forests, Negros is a mountainous and rugged island filled with active and extinct volcanoes.This sparsely populated island with no large metropolitan cities is administratively composed of West Negros and East Negros states.In this study, the geographical location, natural and human characteristics, tourist attractions and tourism potential of Negros Island, which is within the Visayas Group Islands, are discussed.In the study, the main accommodation facilities and beaches of the island, nature protection areas, cultural artefacts and tourism centres located in the immediate vicinity of the island were briefly examined.The primary purpose of this research, which focuses on both tourism geography and regional geography, is to introduce The Negros Island, which is not well known in our country.
