Abstract
Doğu Akdeniz’de stratejik bir noktada bulunan Kıbrıs Adası, tarih boyunca devletler arası mücadelenin yeri olmuştur. Bulunduğu konum itibariyle özellikle XX. yüzyıl ortalarından günümüze kadar Türkiye ve Yunanistan arasında ciddi bir meseleye dönmüştür. Kıbrıs sorunu sadece bu iki komşu devletin dış politika konusu olmayıp Soğuk Savaş dönemindeki kutuplaşmış olan dünyanın dahi müdahil olduğu bir mesele olmuştur. İngiltere’nin bölgeden elini çekmesi ile adadaki Rum kesimi, Kıbrıs Adası’nı Yunanistan’a bağlama çabası içerisinde olmuşlardır. Genel tabirleri ile “Enosis” dedikleri bu ilhak planını gerçekleştirmek için her türlü legal yolu denedikleri gibi illegal yollara da başvuracaklardır. Bunun en somut örneğini ise adada yıllarca terör estirecek olan EOKA tedhiş örgütü sergileyecektir. Bu çalışmamızda Kıbrıs Adası’nda uzun yıllar süren sükunetin nasıl bir anda savaş halini aldığını ve bu süreçte EOKA’nın Kıbrıs Türklerini bastırma ve imha faaliyetleri incelenecektir. Tüm bu gelişmelerle birlikte adanın garantör devletleri sayılan İngiltere, Türkiye ve Yunanistan devletlerinin süreç içindeki diplomatik çalışmalarına da değinilecektir.

Abstract
The island of Cyprus, located at a strategic point in the Eastern Mediterranean, has been a place of inter-state struggle throughout history. Especially XX. from mid-century to the present day between Turkey and Greece has turned a serious matter. The Cyprus problem was not only a matter of foreign policy of these two neighboring states, but turned into an issue in which even the poles of the Cold War were involved. With Britain's withdrawal from the region, the Greek Cypriot community on the island has been in an effort to connect the Island of Cyprus to Greece. In order to realize this annexation plan, which they call Enosis in general terms, they will use all kinds of legal ways as well as illegal ways. The most concrete example of this will be the EOKA terrorist organization, which will terrorize the island for years. In this study, we will examine how the long years of tranquility in the Island of Cyprus suddenly turned into a war and the suppression and destruction activities of the Turkish Cypriots by EOKA in this process. All these developments is considered the island's guarantor states with Britain, Turkey and Greece will be referred to the diplomatic work of the state.
