Abstract
Altı Sigma yaklaşımı, son yıllarda işletmeler tarafından 1980’den beri başarılı bir şekilde kullanılmaktadır. Sağlık sektöründe de yurtdışında kullanılan altı sigma yaklaşımının ülkemizde de gerekliliği gün geçtikçe artmaktadır. Ülkemizde de sağlık çalışanlarının hatasız görevlerini yerine getirmesi, uygulanan süreçlerin analizi ve ölçümü ve hizmet çıktılarının kalitesinin artırılması ve olası hataları da en aza indirilmesi önemli hale gelmiştir. Bu çalışmanın amacı, hastane çalışanları tarafından altı sigma yaklaşımını kullanıp kullanılmadığını ortaya çıkarmaktır.
Bu amaçla çalışmanın teorik kısmında; sağlık sektörünün tarihsel gelişimi, toplam kalite uygulamaları ve Altı Sigma yaklaşımının önemi, neden kullanılmalıdır sorusunun yanıtını geliştirdiğimiz bir model ve o modele ulaşmak için gereken bilişenler açıklanmıştır. Sağlık sektöründe uygulamasının önemi üzerinde geliştirilen ölçeğimiz 83 soru ve 12 alt boyutan oluşmakta olup güvenilirliği ve geçerliliği test edilmiştir. Ölçeğimizi 4 özel ve 4 kamu hastanelerinde hekim, hemşire ve sağlık çalışanları üzerinde uygulanmıştır. Veri analizi sonucu özel ve kamu hastanelerde anlamlı farklılık elde edilmiş ve altı sigma yaklaşımının kullanılmadığı ortaya çıkmıştır.

Abstract
The Six Sigma approach, since 1980 has been successfully used by businesses. In our country, using six sigma approach is increasing in health care sector recent years. In our country for health care workers to perform their duties with minimum errors; analyze, measure the applied processes, increase the quality of the service outputs and minimize the possible errors are the important factors. The aim of this study was to determine whether the hospital workers are using the six sigma approach or not and developing a model.
In the theoretical part of this study; the historical development of the healthcare industry, the total quality practices, the Six Sigma approach and explained the insights needed to reach six sigma in health care sector to reach a model. Reliability and validity of scale which used in this study have been tested and consists of 83 questions and 12 sub-dimensions which is developed due to the importance of its application in the health sector. Our scale was applied on physicians, nurses and health workers in 4 private and 4 public total of 8 hospitals. According to the results of the data analysis there was a significant difference between private and public hospitals and also show us that the six sigma approach was not used by hospitals.
