Abstract
Haber toplama ve yazma dersi medya ile alakalı herhangi bir bölüm okuyan öğrenciler için çok önemlidir. Haberlerin gerek günlük yaşamla ilişkili olması gerekse medya okuryazarlığının kazanılması için yazılan haberlere dikkat edilmesi gerekmektedir. Haber toplama ve yazma dersiyle öğrencilere haberin nasıl elde edileceğini, elde edilen bilgilerin önem sırasına göre nasıl sıralanması gerektiğini, en sonda da belli kurallara uyarak bu bilgilerin haberleştirilmesinin nasıl yapılacağını öğretebilmek amaçlanmaktadır. Bu ders sayesinde öğrencilerde, çevrelerine farklı bakış açıları geliştirilir ve günlük hayatlarındaki her olaya haber değeri ile yaklaşmaları sağlanır. Haber toplama dersinde bu amaçlar doğrultusunda gazetelerden faydalanılması konuyu daha iyi açıklayabildiği için kullanılmaktadır. Ayrıca gazetelerin sürekli güncel olmaları ve hata paylarının da bulunması gazeteleri derste kullanılan önemli bir materyal haline getirmiştir. Bu çalışmada Bingöl Üniversitesi Sosyal Bilimler Meslek Yüksekokulu’nda Medya ve İletişim Programı’nı okuyan, haber toplama ve yazma dersini alan öğrencilere uygulama olarak götürülen gazetelerin uygulamasının nasıl yapıldığı açıklanmaktadır. Haber yazımına geçilmeden önce öğrencilerin teorik olarak konuyu anlayıp anlamadıkları örnek olarak uygulanan gazete haberi ile ölçülmektedir. Ayrıca öğrencilerin bu uygulamayla sadece ezber yapmaları önlenmekte ve ezberledikleri konuları pratiğe dökmeleri sağlanmaktadır. Daha önce haber toplama ve yazma dersine yönelik herhangi bir çalışma yapılmamış olması da bu çalışmayı önemli kılmaktadır.

Abstract
The course on information collection and authorship is very important for students who are studying at any department related to the media. Not only for the fact that news stories are related to daily life but also for gaining media literacy, it is needed to pay attention to news stories that are written. The course on information collection and authorship aims to teach students how news stories are obtained, how the pieces of information that are obtained should be listed based on their degree of priority and how these pieces of information are finally organized by complying with certain rules. With the help of this course, students develop different points of view related to their environment and are helped in approaching every issue in their lives with a news value. Usage of newspapers in the course on information collection is utilized as it can explain the topics better. Additionally, the constantly up-to-date nature of newspapers and their margins of error have made newspapers an important material that is used in the classroom. This study explains how the newspapers that are distributed to students who take the course on information collection and authorship are implemented in the Media and Communication program at the Social Sciences Vocational School at Bingöl University. Before going into news authorship, newspaper articles are used to measure whether or not the student has understood the topic theoretically. Moreover, with this practice, students are prevented from merely memorizing, and they are directed towards putting the topics that they have learned into practice. The fact that there has been no study on the course on information collection and authorship before makes this study significant.
