Abstract
Dinler tarihinde kutsal kavramı önemlidir. Kutsal, dünyevi olmayandır. İnsan, eşya veya nesne kutsal kategorisine giren fenomenlerdir. Din kurucuları, azizler ve diğer dinsel hüviyetli kişiler kutsal kavramının kapsamına giren insanlardır. Bu bağlamda Sathya Sai Baba, Hindistan’da Hindular tarafından kendisine kutsallık atfedilen bir şahsiyettir. Sathya Sai Baba’nın kutsal kabul edilmesinin birçok sebebi vardır. O, sevgiyi, merhameti ve yardımlaşmayı öğretisinin temeline koyarak taraftar kazanmıştır. Gizemli deneyimlerle başlayan kutsal yolculuğu Hindistan dışına taşan bir ün kazanmıştır. Sai Baba, Hinduizm inancına dayalı ve İslam’dan etkilenerek oluşturduğu tasavvufi hareketiyle ciddi bir kitleye ulaşmıştır. Vakıflar aracılığıyla yardımlaşma ve dayanışmaya önem verdiğini göstermiştir. İnsanların maddi ve manevi ihtiyacını karşılamayı kendisine prensip edinmiştir. Bu çerçevede hem Hindistan’da hem de ülke dışında hastaneler, okullar ve dernekler kurmuştur. Bu hizmet kurumları Sai Baba hareketinin yayılmasını ve kökleşmesini sağlamıştır. Bu çalışma dinsel bir figür olarak Sathya Sai Baba’nın hayatı ve öğretisi üzerinde durmayı amaçlamıştır. Bu çerçevede kutsal kavramı bağlamında hayatı ve öğretisi Sai Baba’nın ve takipçilerinin ürettiği eserler üzerinden ele alınmaya çalışılmıştır.

Abstract
The concept of sacred is important in the history of religions. Sacred is not earthly. Human, article or object are the phenomena that fall into the sacred category. Religious founders, saints and other religious persons are the people who fall within the scope of the holy concept. In this context, Sathya Sai Baba is a person who is attributed holiness to him by Hindus in India. There are many reasons why Sathya Sai Baba is considered sacred. He has been favored by putting love, compassion and solidarity on the basis of his teaching. His mystical journey began with a sacred journey over India. Sai Baba has reached a serious audience with his Sufism movement based on Hinduism and influenced by Islam. It has shown that it gives importance to cooperation and solidarity through foundations. It is a principle to meet the material and spiritual needs of people. Within this framework, it established hospitals, schools and associations both in India and abroad. These services provided the Sai Baba movement to spread and root. This study aims to focus on the life and teachings of Sathya Sai Baba as a religious figure. Within this scope, in the context of the concept of sacred, its life and teachings have been tried to be handled by the works of Sai Baba and his followers.
