Abstract

I. Murat devrinde kurulan ve Osmanlı Devleti’nin kazandığı parlak zaferlerde büyük pay sahibi olan Yeniçeri ocağı zaman içinde bozulmuş, devlet ve topluma zarar veren bir hale gelmiştir. Bu nedenle ilk olarak II. Osman zamanında kaldırılmak istenmişse de bu girişim II. Osman’ın katlini netice vermiştir. III. Selim devletin kötü gidişatını tersine çevirmek için yeni bir orduya olan ihtiyacı görmüş ve bu nedenle Nizam-ı Cedit adında harp sanatını bilen bir ordu kurmuştu. Fakat bu ordu da Kabakçı Mustafa İsyanı ile lağvedilmiştir. Nihayet 1826 Vaka-i Hayriye ile bu sürece son nokta konmuş ve II. Mahmut Yeniçeri ocağını kaldırmaya muvaffak olmuştur. Yeniçeri ocağının kaldırılmasından sonra pek çok yeniçeri idam ve sürgün edilmiştir. Vaka-i Hayriye’nin payitahttaki büyük etkisinin yanında taşraya da yansımaları olmuştur. Bu çalışmada Yeniçeri ocağının kaldırılmasının Amasya’ya etkileri incelenmiştir.

Abstract

The Guild of Janissaries,which was established at the era of Murat I and had lots of shares in the gorgeous victories of the Ottoman State, was degenerated in time and started to be harmful to not only the state but also to the society.Therefore, it was intended to be abolished during Osman IInd period, but this attempt ended by the regicide of Osman IInd. Selim IIIrd saw the need of a new army to reverse the bad trajectory of the state and so he established an army named as Nizam-ı Cedit (New Order) which knew martial art.However, this army was repealed by Kabakçı Mustafa riot,as well.Eventually, Mahmut IInd put a full stop to this process by Vaka-i Hayriye (the Auspicious Incident) in 1826 and was able to abolish the Guild of Janissaries.After the abolishment of the Guild of Janissaries lots of janissaries were executed and exiled.The Auspicious Incident (Vaka-i Hayriye) had also reflections on provinces alongside the capital city. In this study the effects of the abolition of the Guild of Janissaries in Amasya were examined.
