Abstract

Abstract

Design is a concept that combines the logical, technical and analytical dimensions of science with the aesthetic dimensions of art. In other words, design is a bridge between science and art. This situation is valid for all design fields as well as for the field of clothing design. In clothing design, which is a multidimensional and difficult discipline, the design purpose and the target audience for which the design will be made must be well defined. In this direction, the issue of whose needs the product to be developed will meet and which problem/problems it will solve is a subject that must be determined and defined in detail at the first stage of the design process. This issue has led to the development of different methods in the product development process. One of the most important of these methods is the "FEA Consumer Needs Model" developed by Lamb and Kallal in 1992. The purpose of this research is to develop clothing designs for the needs of agricultural workers who work as 4D permanent workers using the FEA model. In line with this purpose, a semi-structured interview form consisting of questions to determine consumer needs in three dimensions of the model, namely functional, aesthetic and expressive, was used in collecting research data. The universe of the study consists of agricultural workers working in the 4D permanent worker staff at Nigde Omer Halisdemir University, and the sample consists of 21 workers who volunteer to participate in the study. In the analysis of the data obtained as a result of the application of the interview form to the sample of the study, content analysis method was used with determined themes. As a result, functional, aesthetic, and meaningful designs of trousers, jackets, sweatshirts and t-shirts have been developed for agricultural workers, meeting the characteristics of the institution, the requirements of the job, and the expectations of the workers, in both summer and winter versions.
