Abstract
Bu çalışmanın amacı Ermeni asıllı ABD’li besteci Alan Hovhaness'in solo viyola için yazdığı “Op.56a chahagir” adlı yapıtını yorumlamak isteyenlere faydalı bilgiler ve öneriler sunabilecek bir kaynak oluşturmaktır. Çalışmada Giriş Bölümünü takip eden İnceleme Bölümü; Alan Hovhaness'in yaşamı ve müzikal stili ile Solo viyola için chahagir Op.56a olmak üzere iki ana başlıktan oluşturulmuştur. İnceleme Bölümünde; Bestecinin yaşamı, eserleri ve müzikal stiline genel bir bakışın yansıra “chahagir” adli eseriyle ilgili genel bir form analizi ile teknik ve müzikal inceleme ve değerlendirmeler yapılmıştır. Eseri çalışmak isteyen öğrencilere ve yorumculara yönelik fikir ve öneriler sunulmuştur. Yazım sürecinde yabancı dilde pek çok çalışmadan yararlanılarak geniş bir tarama yapılmış ve çevrimiçi kaynaklardan elde edilen bilgilere yer verilmiştir.

Abstract
The aim of this study is to create a resource that provides useful information and recommendations for those wishing to interpret "chahagir," Op. 56a, a work for solo viola composed by the Armenian-American composer Alan Hovhaness. Following the Introduction Section, the Analysis Section of the study is divided into two main parts: Alan Hovhaness's life and musical style, and "chahagir," Op. 56a for solo viola. The Analysis Section provides a general overview of the composer's life, works, and musical style, as well as a formal analysis of the piece "chahagir," including technical and musical examination and evaluations. It provides insights and recommendations for students and performers who wish to study the work. The writing process involved extensive research using numerous foreign-language sources and information obtained from online resources.
