İnsanlık tarihi boyunca, maske, farklı kültürlerde ve dönemlerde kendini ifade etmenin, dönüşümün ve gizemin güçlü bir aracı olmuştur. Bu gizemli dünyada, deri, benzersiz dokusu, dayanıklılığı, esnekliği ve estetik potansiyeli ile maske sanatçılarının en gözde malzemelerinden biri haline gelmiştir. Derinin doğal güzelliği ve işlenebilirliği, sanatçılara sınırsız bir yaratıcılık alanı sunarken, deri maskeler, hem estetik açıdan büyüleyici hem de derin anlamlar taşıyan eserler olarak ortaya çıkmaktadır. Deri maske sanatçıları deriyi kullanarak, insan yüzünün ardındaki duyguları, düşünceleri ve kimlikleri ifade etmeye devam etmektedirler. “Deri Maske Sanatçıları ve Eserleri” başlıklı araştırmanın amacı; günümüz deri mask sanatı ürünlerinin geniş bir yelpazede ele alınarak bu alanda çalışma yapan sanatçılar, bu sanatçılara ait çalışmaların kullanılan teknik, malzeme, renk ve kullanım alanları açısından incelenmesidir. Ürünler, sanatçıların internet sitelerinden, çevrimiçi kataloglardan, e-posta yoluyla kendilerinden ve yayınlarda yer alan farklı koleksiyonlarından elde edilmiştir. Ulaşılan bilgiler toplanarak ürün bilgi formları ve sanatçı bilgi formları hazırlanmıştır. Ürün bilgi formları, teknik, malzeme, kullanım alanı açısından incelenmiş ve yorumlanmıştır. Araştırmanın modeli betimsel tarama olarak belirlenmiştir. Araştırmanın evrenini çeşitli sosyal medya platformlarından ulaşılan dünyada üretilen bazı deri mask ürünlerini oluşturmaktadır. Örneklem olarak seçilen farklı sanatçılara ait 28 adet el yapımı deri maskların; ürünün adı, ürünün türü, kullanılan deri türü, renk, teknik, kullanılan gereçler ve kompozisyon özellikleri açısından incelenmiş ve yorumlanmıştır. Tüm veriler doğrultusunda şu sonuçlar elde edilmiştir; incelenen deri maskların form özelliklerinde yarım maskların tercih edildiği tespit edilmiştir. Mask formları incelendiğinde; çeşitli farklılık gösteren masklar, yapısı, kullanım amacı, kullanılan gereç ve renklere göre farklılık göstermektedir. Kullanılan mask formlarının, sanatçının isteğine veya alıcının isteğine göre biçimlendiği saptanmıştır. |

Throughout human history, the mask has been a powerful tool of self-expression, transformation and mystery in different cultures and periods. In this mysterious world, leather has become one of the most favourite materials of mask artists with its unique texture, durability, flexibility and aesthetic potential. The natural beauty and workability of leather offers artists an unlimited field of creativity, and the resulting leather masks are both aesthetically fascinating and deeply meaningful artefacts. Leather mask artists continue to express the emotions, thoughts and identities behind the human face by using leather. The aim of the research titled ‘Leather Mask Artists and Their Works’ is to examine today's leather mask art products in a wide range and to examine the artists working in this field and the works of these artists in terms of the technique, material, colour and usage areas. The products were obtained from the artists' websites, online catalogues, e-mails and different collections in publications. Product information forms and artist information forms were prepared by collecting the information obtained. Product information forms were analysed and interpreted in terms of technique, material and area of use. The research model was determined as descriptive survey. The universe of the research consists of leather mask products produced in the world accessed from various social media platforms. The 24 handmade leather masks belonging to different artists selected as a sample were examined and interpreted in terms of the name of the product, type of product, type of leather used, colour, technique, materials used and composition features. The following results were obtained in line with all the data; it was determined that half masks were preferred in the form characteristics of the examined leather masks. When the mask forms are examined; the masks, which show various differences, differ according to their structure, purpose of use, materials and colours used. It has been determined that the mask forms used are shaped according to the request of the artist or the buyer. |
