Abstract

Abstract

The concept of entrepreneurship, which is as old as human history, has been the subject of many studies in the social sciences especially in recent years. Historically, the first studies on the concept were made in the field of economics. From a sociological perspective, entrepreneurship is not only an economic element but also a social and cultural phenomenon. It is the starting point of this study that cultural phenomenon has an important effect on the personal characteristics of an entrepreneur and the practice of doing business. Culture is not a static, monolithic formation, on the contrary, it is a dynamic process in which the new and the old are constantly in a dialectical conflict. From their early ages, individuals are shaped by the cultural pool where they were born and formed the appropriate behavioral patterns. While culture is a human production, it is the result of a historically cumulative sum. Cultural differences directly affect entrepreneurial behaviors. The question of why some societies or countries have more entrepreneurial character is one of the important questions of the field. Abolishing all kinds of entrepreneurial action from the socio-cultural environment of the society from which it emerges will result in an incomplete assessment.
