Abstract

Modern dönem, teknolojik yenilikler, bilişim sistemleri ve sosyoekonomik koşullardaki iyileşmeler ile birlikte artan toplumsal talepleri, bilgi üretiminde hızlı bir artışı ve sürekli değişimi beraberinde getirmiştir. Yeni koşullara uyum sağlamaya çalışan toplumlar 21. Yüzyıl becerilerine sahip bireyler yetiştirebilmek ve değişime ayak uydurabilmek amacıyla eğitim sistemlerini de disiplinler arası bir anlayışla şekillendirmek, dinamik ve üretken bir altyapı kurmak ihtiyacıyla karşı karşıya kalmaktadırlar. Bu bağlamda, farklı ülkelerdeki uygulamaların incelenerek başarılı örneklerin değerlendirilmesi ve uyarlanması, ülkelere maliyet ve hız açısından olumlu katkılar sağlamaktadır. Uluslararası alanda başarı kriterlerinden biri kabul edilen Pisa sınavlarında başarı sağlamış ülkelerden biri olan Singapur eğitim sisteminin en önemli ögelerinden birini öğretmenler oluşturmaktadır. Singapur öğretmen yetiştirme sisteminin değerlendirilmesi ile örnek uygulamaların tespit edilmesi ve daha derin bir incelemeye yönelik önem arz eden alanların belirlenmesi mümkün olacaktır.

Abstract

Modern period has brought technologic advancements, informatics systems and risen social demands along with improvements in socioeconomic conditions, a rapid increase in information production and a constant change. Societies which try to adapt to new conditions face the need to train individuals who have 21st century skills and to establish the grounds for dynamism and productivity, to shape their education systems in an interdisciplinary understanding in order to keep up with the change process. In this context, the evaluation and the adaptation of successful examples derived from the evaluation of applications in different countries provide the country with positive benefits in terms of cost and pace. Teachers constitute one of the most important elements of Singapore education system which has achieved success in Pisa exams that are regarded as one of the criteria for international success. It will be possible to determine example applications and specific areas which require further evaluation by investigating the teacher training system of Singapore.
