Abstract

Bu çalışmanın temel konusu, psikologlar Justin Kruger ve David Dunning (1999) tarafından ortaya konulan Dunning-Kruger etkisidir. Çalışmanın amacı, Dunning-Kruger etkisinin incelenmesi için yazarlar tarafından ortaya konulan tezlerden yola çıkarak otel işletmeleri yöneticilerine yönelik çeşitli önermeler geliştirmektir. Çalışmada ikincil kaynaklardan faydalanılmış, yazın tarama yöntemi kullanılarak ilgili temel çalışmalar incelenmiş ve çalışmanın amacı doğrultusunda tartışılmıştır. Çalışma kapsamında, yazarların ortaya koyduğu düşük yetkinlik ve yüksek yetkinliğe sahip bireylerin davranışlarına yönelik dört hipotezden yola çıkılarak, otel yöneticilerinin davranışlarına yönelik önermeler sunulmuştur. Geliştirilen araştırma önermelerinin ampirik anlamda incelenmesi ise gelecek çalışmalara bırakılmıştır.

Abstract

The main theme of this study is the Dunning-Kruger effect, which is revealed by psychologists Justin Kruger and David Dunning (1999). The aim of the study is to develop various proposals for the managers of the hotel enterprises, starting from the theses put forward by the authors to examine the Dunning-Kruger effect. In the study, related basic works were explored using the secondary sources, using the literature review method and discussed in the direction of the aim of the study. Secondary sources were utilized in this study, related basic studies were investigated by using the literature search method and it has been discussed in the direction of the aim of working. In the study, the authors demonstrated that low competence and the basis of four hypotheses for the behavior of individuals with high competence, propositions for the behavior of hotel managers is presented. The empirical examination of the proposed research proposals has been left to future studies.
