With the application of hemodialysis treatments in CRF patients, the life span of the patients was prolonged; however, the problems experienced by the patients during this treatment process also increased. In addition to physiological problems in dialysis patients, psychological problems such as depression, anxiety and hopelessness are also observed due to the inability to perform daily life activities. The aim of this study is to determine the relationship between anxiety and hopelessness in hemodialysis patients.
The descriptive relational type study was conducted with 137 patients treated in a private dialysis center. Personal information form, Beck Anxiety Scale (BAS) and Beck Hopelessness Scale (BHS) were used to collect data. Descriptive statistics, Mann-Whitney-U, Kruskal Wallis, One-Way Anova, correlation and regression tests were used to evaluate the data.
50.4% of the participants are in the 51 and over age range, 52.6% are male and 76.6% are married. In our study, no significant difference was found between sociodemographic variables and BAI total score averages (p>0.05). A significant difference was found between the total mean scores of BLS according to the gender and employment status of the participants. There was no correlation between BAI and BAI (r=-0.049, p=0.572), and in the regression analysis, it was determined that gender and education level were the most important independent variables in terms of hopelessness.
The Arab Spring In Frankfurt School-Critical Theory Within The Framework Of Liberation Thought

Frankfurt School, also called Critical Theory, criticized and transformed all positivist theories and made important contributions to the literature. One of the concepts that the school adds to the literature is the concept of emancipation, which can be evaluated both in terms of international relations and sociology.
With the idea of emancipation, the school, which draws attention to the notions of poverty, inequality and democracy in the society as a result of capitalism, as well as critically offer suggestions how to solve these problems, was also effective in the perception of security that emerged after the Cold War and in the 1990s, it prepared the ground for the necessity of focusing security was more effective on individuals. The Arab Spring, which took place in the Arab world in 2011 and caused thousands of people to fall into the streets, is one of the most striking examples of what the Frankfurt School wants to tell with the concept of emancipation.
Under the influence of capitalism's neo-liberal policies, Arab peoples, deprived of many human rights, including income inequality, have been the forerunners of a movement that spread across the Arab world and subsequently to the global level, because of their desire for emancipation.
In this study, the Arab Spring has been examined from the perspective of how security has transformed in the international system and where emancipation is positioned within the perception of security. However, the reasons for the emergence of the Arab Spring have been emphasized and ,especially among them, the importance of the effective role of international capital has not been neglected.

While examining the effects of nutrition on health, the nutritional diversity is characterized by the suitability and sustainability of the individual's living conditions. Thanks to the holistic and productive approach taken in health and nutrition, people's nutrition should be guided by taking into account their "well-being". Since people's working life covers an average of one third of a day, their nutrition should be guided by taking into account the working conditions. As a matter of fact, ship workers are one of the groups most affected by the difficulties of working conditions and limited opportunities. This is also very important for their health. In this review, the relationship between the nutrition of ship workers and some chronic diseases was investigated.

Having a rich linguistic material and vocabulary in Kumyk Turkish, which belongs to the group of north-western Kipchak dialects, has increased the interest on it. Many important studies have been carried out in this field in Turkey and outside of Turkey. The language features of Kumyk Turkish, dialect structures, vocabulary and distinguished people of Kumyk literature and their works have been studied from different aspects. Since publishing of these studies in different places and different languages, researchers needed a compact source of information for their new studies. At this point, bibliographies have provided convenience for researchers and have become an important reference source. However, a direct bibliography study about Kumyk Turkish could not be found in the literature. For this reason, with this study, it is aimed to be a source and help for the Kumyk Turkish studies that will be done later. The sources in the bibliography are discussed under two main titles as <em>“Kumyk Turkish Studies Outside of Turkey” </em>and<em> “Kumyk Turkish Studies in Turkey”</em>. These studies are shown under separate titles as <em>“Books, Articles, Papers, Encyclopedia Articles and Theses” </em>according to their types. In addition, sources that indirectly mention Kumyk Turkish are also listed under a separate title.

The aim of the study called "The Evaluation of the Smart Botanical Park Application According to Secondary School Students' Views" was aimed at secondary school students to learn plant species and their benefits.A focus group discussion was conducted to determine the effects of the Smart Botanical Park on learning. Eight 12th grade students at the age of 18 were determined for the interview. 4 of the students were chosen as girls and 4 of them as boys in order to avoid gender-related clustering in the answers. The 8 students we determined were taken on a tour in the Smart Botanical Park. The students completed this trip by reading the QR codes on the plates with the barcode readers on their phones. It is understood that the Smart Botanical Park application affects the permanence of knowledge, the functionality of learning and the attractiveness of the course environment. In addition to these, we expect that it will have positive effects on the academic life of the students.Such learning environments should be given more space in schools, taking into account interdisciplinary issues. It is recommended that open-air learning environments take up more space in the curriculum and annual plans, and that new schools should be planned to include open-air learning environments.

Procrastination behavior is an important issue which has been the subject of many disciplines for many years, and its causes and consequences have been emphasized. To date, many studies have been conducted explaining procrastination behavior. Temporal Motivation Theory is one of the latest and contemporary motivation theories that explains procrastination behavior in detail. Temporal Motivation Theory, which can be used to explain many behaviors, was used to explain procrastination behavior in this research. Temporal Motivation Theory, which is formed by combining the theories of hyperbolic reduction, expectation theory, cumulative probability theory and need theory, provides a very substantial explanation for procrastination behavior. Quantitative research methods were used in the study. In this context, 703 university student participants were reached. The dimensions of Temporal Motivation Theory are measured by the "Motivational Diagnostic Scale" and the procrastination behavior is measured by the "Irrational Procrastination Scale". The delay variable of the study was the time interval between the presentation of the data collection tool to the students and the delivery date. The results of the research support that there is a relationship between temporal motivation dimensions and procrastination behavior.

Thematic Development In Translated Texts

Various Systemic Functional Linguistics studies have contributed to the study of translated texts in recent years, sparking interest in the role of Systemic Functional Linguistics in translation studies. Language comprises of three metafunctions in Systemic Functional Linguistics: textual, interpersonal and ideational. These three metafunctions together create meaning. However, traditional translation studies “gave more weight to the ideational metafunction” (Matthiessen, 2001, p. 47) while disregarding the textual metafunction. An analysis carried out on the textual function within Systemic Functional Linguistics helps translators to establish textual equivalence in texts. “The textual function of the clause is that of constructing a message" (Halliday, 1985, p.53). The clause revealing a message is divided into two components by Halliday: theme and rheme. Theme is “the point of departure of the message” and Rheme is “the remainder of the message,” thus “as a message structure, a clause consists of a Theme accompanied by a Rheme” (1994, s.37). The Theme-Rheme structure is one of the tools that arranges the message during the communication process. Theme bears ‘given information’ and connects communicative elements to the preceding context; Rheme on the other hand carries ‘new information’ and is situated at the end of the clause. This linear arrangement represents the thematic development in a text. Thematic development plays an important role in arranging the message in a text. It is thought that analyzing the source text's thematic development can help translators produce their target text more effectively. In other words, the information regarding the thematic development helps the translator to see how information is gradually constructed in the text and how the text hangs together. Unfortunately few studies have focused on the thematic organization in translated texts. The present study, therefore, introduces the notions of theme and rheme, outlines some aspects of thematic development and briefly introduces its applications in translation.

The concept of nationalism, the seeds of which were planted with the French Revolution, is based on the freedom of nations as well as the main idea of gaining social, political and cultural autonomy to support national freedom. Egypt’s contact with the West, which started with the Napoleonic invasion, kindled formation of national consciousness and awareness in aforementioned areas, and in this period, the transformation forged with various religious, political and cultural conditions continued on its way among a multitude of rising voices about the ongoing process. It is not hard to predict the resistance created by the influence of religion and tradition at those times when change was very difficult compared to now the world evolving into a small village. It is possible to find the background of everyday tools of modernity in historical literature, the arduous process of change, the emotional and intellectual atmosphere dominating this period in the literary works of the era which began to take shape with new genres. In this sense, Taha Hüseyin’s novel “Adeeb” (1935) is a significant masterpiece that exhibits the main outlines of social change, cultural conflict and corruption, and the social attitude against modernity. The given study aims to evaluate the process in the framework of the novel and point out its social background.

Since the early ages, human beings have always felt the need to learn what is going on around them, to communicate, or to explain and convey their situation to others. This need led them to search and developed communication methods. Do not forget the confusion of the mind and nature! In response to his order, man built the museum. Museums are places where every civilization meets each other and where we see our own space of existence between us and others. Museums established to preserve social memory and culture are built to preserve the future, not the past. The virtualization of a museum ensures the liberation of knowledge. The aim of this study is to document and immortalize the cultural values, which are on the verge of extinction because of social and human destruction, and how they can be conveyed to future generations by re-living them with the opportunities provided by technology. As a result of the study, it has been seen that digital design programs and methods are very effective in space and object simulation and have a powerful effect that can immortalize the moment and relive it.

Today, organizations operate in dynamic and competitive markets where customer demands and needs change rapidly. Although the technological developments experienced reduce the need for human resources, the most important element that leads organizations to success or failure is even capital manpower. The quality of the human resources of an enterprise is the most important element of that enterprise in making a difference, innovating and therefore in being able to compete. Being aware of this, businesses have started to give more importance to concepts such as career management, talent management, and competence management. In order to compete in our age, there is a need for innovative and creative businesses that understand the importance of human power. The most important task for this is undoubtedly the administration. In other words, we can say that in order to have a competent human resource structure, first of all, a competent management is needed.
Organizations that have to act customer-oriented as a requirement of modern marketing always need competent employees. In order to have competent employees, organizations must first have satisfied employees by transforming this into a corporate culture. In other words, the way to create satisfied customers is usually through satisfied employees. Having satisfied employees will be possible by giving them the necessary power and making them competent.
When academic studies are examined, it is seen that the concept of competence is generally associated with employee satisfaction and business performance. Studies investigating the relationship between employee competence and customer satisfaction are scarcely any. Therefore, it is thought that the study will constitute a source quality and will guide the future studies. In this study; The effect of the competencies of the employees in the service sector on customer satisfaction is discussed with a theoretical approach and explained with a literature review.

The camera obscura was known and used by researchers and painters long before 1839. The camera obscura played a large part in the invention of photography and was later replaced by it. The invention of photography is an important turning point in the history of art. The painters were shocked by the discovery of the camera. Because photography was much better at reflecting the visible world as it was. As a result, some painters were worried that they would be unemployed. It wasn't long before the painters of miniatures were right to be worried. Accordingly, some painters competed with the camera, while others chose to use it as an auxiliary element in their work. The critic Charles Baudelaire accused him of trying to replace art. Despite all this, many painters from Delacroix to Courbet, from Degas to Eakins used photography as an auxiliary element in their work. While doing this, they did not transfer the photographs to the canvas as they were, they both made some changes in the composition and adhered to their own artistic style. The discovery of the photograph made the painters tend not to interpret the reality rather than to convey it photographically.

Shanghai Cooperation Organization is a regional international organization that includes states from Europe to all of Asia. There are Russia, China, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan as member countries in the SCO, and Pakistan, Iran, Mongolia and India as observer countries. Although all member states of the organization are equal, it is a fact that Russia and China dominate all organizational policies. The reason why the two countries dominate the SCO is economic capacity, population, military power etc. determined by their national powers. Therefore, their vision of cooperation and activities within the SCO is entirely driven by the major players in the organization. Turkey's relations with SCO member states have been developing rapidly in recent years. This process will most likely continue with increasing momentum for two main reasons. First, China has already become the world's second largest economy, as the center of gravity of the world economy continues to shift from the Americas and Europe to Asia. The government is also aware that it needs to develop its relations with the rising Asian powers, especially China and India, in order to maintain its claim to make Turkey a central country in world politics. In this sense, the SCO is perceived by Turkish policy makers as a tool, not an aim, to achieve this ambitious goal. Second, although the financial crisis in Europe has slowed down, it is far from fully contained. This is another factor that complicates Turkey's already difficult membership process. If the Turkish government and people continue to lose faith in the EU, the Asian/Eurasian alternative symbolized by the SCO may seem more promising to Turkish foreign policy makers.

In the Republican era, the hegemonic policies of Turkish society imposed a certain orientation on society, even in a transitional and abstract medium such as music, and the academic medium saw some names and the group they represented as "legitimate". This understanding is still largely valid in academia. Kadri Şençalar, who has served in oud, composer and many other fields in the last century, is one of the names that has not been considered as a subject in the history of Turkish music, since it is subject to the hierarchy of legitimacy. If history makes a sharp distinction between the righteous and the unjust as a result of the interrogations, it means that it is not being scrutinized to illuminate the present. The aim of this study is not to find a definite right and wrong with historical inquiries, but to reveal the reflections of the attitude towards the mentioned artist and the music he represents. The steps taken by Şençalar throughout his life will be seen in the study that will be followed, and it will be seen that the artist is in a friendly and in some cases even a founding position with the circles that determine the legitimacy throughout his lifetime. It can be said that the indifferent attitude towards Kadri Şençalar in the academy is related to a later deepened distinction, even in these times when every subject can fall within the research range and the opportunities of the academy are at their widest.

In today's conditions, the increase in competition and the developments in information technology have caused a radical change in the production chain and these changes have created negative problems on the ecological environment. In this study, it has been tried to determine what the duties and effects of enterprises should be for sustainable dynamism as a result of the climate change that arises due to global warming, as a result of the environmental problems that threaten the world.
