Increasing mass media and encircling daily life improves freedom of expression and prepares propaganda for terrorist groups. At this point, terrorist organizations are expanding their ideological domains by integrating with different media, in addition to their armed actions. Especially ISIS, which has a widespread influence in Syria and Iraq as a global organization, is an organization that uses the media effectively. This study deals with the relationship between media and terror with the example of DAESH. As a result of the research, it is seen that DAESH uses the written and visual media effectively. The organization uses the internet and media tools for propaganda, promotion, mobilization, employment, coordination, planning and psychological warfare. This situation shows that the struggle with the organization is not simple enough to be realized only with a gun, but the organization's digital propaganda activities should be terminated. In addition, a detailed information and analysis based on the literature of domestic and foreign academic research on terrorism and the media is presented.

New communication technologies are being used along with traditional communication technologies in public relations activities which cover a whole range of predetermined planned communication efforts to maintain good relationships and good intensions between an institution, person, product and service and their target mass. New communication technologies provide users with a two-way communication opportunity with a user-focused structure. This environment, known as social media, is seen as an important medium in terms of bringing people together. This situation has important functions such as recognizing and communicating directly with the target group and learning their expectations, considering the people who conduct public relation activities. Web 2.0 based social media applications provide various advantages such as communication with the target without any intermediary between time and place, easy transfer of user information through multiple elements like text, sound, graphic, image and video, and more effective and immediate feedback from users. Institutions and organizations benefit from these advantages along with the persons. The research for this thesis was carried out between 1 May and 31 October, covering the summer holiday period, during which the weather conditions improved and consequently outdoor concerts started to gain intensity. The research aims to find out whether the process of using new technologies such as celebrities’ Twitter practices can be associated with the Press Agency/Promotion model of the public relations. It is intended to demonstrate that it can not be associated with the model. Within the scope of the research, official Twitter accounts of the top ten pop artists who have the biggest number of followers according to the investigation report of the social media company “Socialbackers”, has been analyzed in regard to their actuality, multimedia features, content of the message, interactivity, aspects of communication and the press agency/promotion model. As a result of the findings obtained; Twitter shares of the studied celebrities are generally similar in terms of content, multimedia features and interactivity. Nevertheless, it has been observed that the Twitter shares of some celebrities who have been examined generally conform to the Press Agency / Promotion Model and that some use Twitter in accordance with two-way communication and respond to their followers.

Democracy In Ancient Greece: Approaches, Experiences And Coup D’états

In this study, we aimed to examine the emergence and development of democracy in Ancient Greece and how the culture of the coup developed from some thinkers and experiences. It is one of first civilizations in world’s political history where different management methods such as monarchy, aristocracy, aristocracy, republic, timocracy, oligarchy and democracy were seen. Democracy and coup d’état are two opposing concepts. Despite this, the culture of coup d’état has emerged and developed in all places where democracy existed. However, coup d’état cannot be mentioned where democracy is present and democracy is out of question where a coup d’état occurs. As first experiences of democracy were seen in Ancient Greece, first occurrences of coup d’état also took place therein. Although democracy in Ancient Greece was founded on the nature of humans, conscience and intelligence, there is no common definition or consensus on it. Whereas there were supporters of democracy in this period, there were also those opposed to it. In Ancient Greece, democracy was applied efficiently during the Pericles period and maximized the power of Athens city-states. According to many philosophers, coup d’état is the biggest hindrance for democracy. Despite this, some philosophers saw coup d’état as a means to gain political power. There were even philosophers like Zeno of Elea who were personally in coup d’état attempts. Consequently with a history of nearly 2500 years, democracy has finally reached the end of a long, challenging and exhausting journey today. The basis for protecting and preserving democracy is a fair, equalitarian, liberal, participatory, pluralist and election-based system, not coup d’états. Coup d’état is never a legal, righteous and democratic means to gaining political power; on the contrary, it legalizes violence and totalitarianism in the society.

Large and small rivers arising from the continental climate by processing volcanic formations, perform the effort to form the visuality of Cappadocia region. Karasu, which is our research area, is a river that witnesses and contributes to this event. The spring - fed streams which are commonly seen in the karstic fields, are also seen in the Hasandağı volcanic field. The Karasu basin is located in the Great Konya Closed Basin. It has an area of 233 km² and within the boundaries of Aksaray. Melendiz forms the largest branch of its water. Karasu is fed by many springs and some form side arms. Some of them end even before the seasonal streams do not transmit its waters into the main streams. It has formed the Mamasun Dam in the area where Melendiz water is combined. Karasu is the vital point of residential areas such as Gülağaç district that is established around itself, Demirci village, Bozcayurt and Alanyurt,. It forms the most productive parts of Aksaray Plain with alluviums it has carried. It is in the east of Aksaray province. In the east; there is Mamasun Dam ,in the West; there is Acıgöl (Nevşehir)Basin ,in the the South; we see Ilisu Basin and Melendiz main stream and in the North; we see Delihebil and Akmezar villages which are located in Ekecik Basin. Conglomerate, limestone, clay, gre, gypsum and tuffs flow in an area where the top cover is located. Due to this situation, the river carries plenty of alluviums and in all places where the slope decreases, alluvium accumulation are formed, the river net expands and menderes flows. Basin is located in stepped area. For this reason: water loss is low by plants. The basin has rainfalls in spring and snowfalls in winter. Rains which generally start in the afternoon and last 40 days are seen in summer months. The stream shows braided drainage feature. The flow decreases in summer. However, as it is a stream fed by well-springs, it does not dry completely. The flow is high in spring. Karasu has a relatively regular regime as it is a stream fed by rain, snow and well-springs. The stream flows through a transverse valley. The flow coefficient ratio is 0.149. It is a sign that it flows along a plain. Stream speed is slower in areas where the slope decreases and the load increases, while the feeding increases, it is fast along curved slopes. The river bed shows an average slope of 0.3%.

Animal Rights In Islam

The present paper examines the subject of animal rights in Islam. The subject in question has major implications in the Qur'an, Sunnah, Islamic Law, Islamic Societies, and the Islamic Culture and Literature. However, due to the difficulty of fully addressing such a wide range of aspects, the paper will only approach the issue within the scope of the Qur’an and Sunnah. In the current age we live in, a gradual degeneration of moral values is taking place in the wider culture and society. The most apparent manifestation of this phenomenon is the increase in animal abuse. This escalation necessitates re-envisioning the view of Islam, the most fundamental value of society, over this issue. Twenty-eight different animals are mentioned in the Qur'an and six of its surahs are named after an animal. The Qur'an emphasizes that animals are also of ummah and describes animals as beings that are never to be marginalized or reduced to a lower class, for they glorify Allah and prostrate themselves before Him. In the Sunnah of the Prophet Mohammad, the issue is handled with greater importance. The Prophet led a life in close touch with animals. He named his camel, horse, and donkey, treated them with care, and even appealed to his camel as a judge in disputed matters. This rich perspective, expressed fifteen centuries ago, needs to be remembered again today.

The words are the pattern of feeling and meaning. A separate feeling and meaning in each word is hidden. Some have sad and gloom, and some have joy and peace. In some, hatred and envy bubble, and in some, tranquility and well-being brew. Some words, like the human heart, contains the opposite meaning. Migration is one of these words. One aspect of migration is sadness, and the other aspect is joy. One side is break and denial, one side is union and hope. Although migration is destined for every human being, it does not manifest in the same style and frequency for all. The reason for the departure of each person from the location to location is not the same as the others. Disgusts, fights, blood feuds, wars, financial troubles, incurable love and many other reasons cause the people of the country to run away from their own lands. According to the reason of the migration, the mood of the migratory (migratory and / or the rest of the immigrant) changes and the moan changes. All this is reflected in our literature in various ways. Immigration, which includes various emotion values in the connotation area; the meaning of use, the word family, the similarities are the important dictionary units of Turkish. In this study, the concept of migration has been tried to be taken into consideration in the light of the information obtained through the literature review.

This paper attempts to investigate the philosophy of using metadiscourse markers in four different editorial texts of two Nigerian newspapers, and reports both their qualitative and quantitative distributions and extent of contribution to rendering the writers’ communicative intentions to the readers. Recent research findings indicate that Metadiscourse is central to pragmatic construal which provides writers with appropriate means constructing adequate co-texts and assumptions to influence readers’ understandings of both the text and their attitude in the text content. Accordingly, this paper assumes that metadiscourse markers linguistically encode clue on how text-producers try to instruct and direct their audience (readers) so that both the discourse and the writer’s stance be clearly understood by the reading community.
