Eventhough, Satala Ancient City, which is located northeast of Anatolia, dates back to the Iron Age, it came into prominence during the period of Rome Empire. In the Roman period, a garrison was built by placing the XVI Flavia Firma legion on Satala Ancient City located in a strategic location where the roads on the Eastern Black Sea intersect. In the Hadrian period, the eastern border of Rome Empire was rearranged and XV Apollinaris legion was placed in the city. Thanks to this legion, the city as one of the most important military bases in the east of the Roman Empire reached the important position in the defence of Rome and became the main base used for campaigns in the east. In AD 256, Satala which was conquered by Sasani army under the command of Shapur I, was under Sasani rule for 2 years. In 529, Emperor Justinianus rebuilt the castle in the city of Satala after Persians crossed the eastern border of the city. The city, which was estimated to continue its military function until the Arab invasion of the 7th century, became a episcopalism center during the Byzantine period and continued this function until 1256. The first studies in the city, that drew attention with a bronze sculpture head in the 19 th century, were implemented by Alfred Biliotti, British Consul of Trabzon in 1874. After a short period of excavation study done by a researcher in the garrison castle, some studies were carried out and several articles were published by some researchers, including F. Cumont, Tim Mitford, Ch.S. Lightfoot ve Süleyman Çiğdem. In accordance with the permission granted by the Republic of Turkey, Ministry of Culture and Toursim, in the surface survey conducted in the summer 2016, the inventory of stone works found in the city was taken; architectural studies and building surveys were carried out in the castle, arches and ancient pond; and a georadar (GPR) study in the arches and inside the legion castle was implemented.

A significant part of the housing stock in Turkey needs transformation because of disaster risk, dissatisfaction with the comfort conditions and sociological problems. Especially after 2003, the economic growth policies based on the construction sector accelerated the urban transformation activities. However, the necessity of questioning the housing policies of this period has emerged due to different housing problems occurring in the output products of urban transformation applications. The housing problem of Turkey, started in the 1950s, is continuing today. In this study, I handled the failure of housing policies to solve the housing gap in Turkey, as the main problem. This study aims to examine the housing problem that has emerged since the Republican Era in the context of periods and housing policies. This study is based on a literature review of the conceptual framework, an examination of the “housing policies in development plans, and a critical approach to the periods. In this context, the process from the proclamation of the republic to the present has been divided into five periods in the context of political policies. Firstly, the political economy of the different periods was put forward, and then the housing policies produced in the relevant period were examined. Then, the policies were critically approached, and the dormant causes of the housing problem were revealed. The periodic presentation of housing policies produced in the period between 1923-2019 and the criticism of why these policies did not bring solutions to housing problems of the period, is the original contribution of this study to the literature.

Interdisciplinary studies are becoming more and more important in the social sciences as in many other disciplines. The academicians who attach importance to the subject can comprehend the perspectives of different disciplines and think multi-faceted and produce more comprehensive and accurate interpretations from a holistic perspective. This situation is seen as a remedy for academic illness called specialist blindness. In this context, the relationship between history and literature is a subject that has been occupying the agenda of both historians and literary historians for a long time. It is now accepted by many historians that the data presented by literature in literature is valid. Literary texts not only played a complementary role in the scarcity of historical documents, but also enriched the historical material and enabled the historian to be more accurate in his interpretations with the help of the literary perspective. As a result of the occasional biased attitude of the official view of history, because of misrepresents of historical events, the lack of information about certain events, and so on, literary texts are very important for historian. In this study, the relationship between history and literature is studied and how to benefit from literary texts especially in Ottoman historical studies is discussed with the help of divan.
Attilâ İlhan's Nationalist Approach To The Relationship Between Language And Culture

Language and culture are two important concepts in sociology. People mainly use the language for expressing themselves. On the other hand, culture expresses the lifestyle acquired by a society through social interaction. There is a close relationship between language and culture. Language serves as a carrier which transfers culture from one generation to another. Both culture and language are the two basic subjects of sociology that are constantly changing, developing and affecting each other as if they are organic elements. Attila İlhan lived from 1925 to 2005 and he wrote novels, poems and TV series scenarios. The author further created works in form of memories, essays and interviews. The author lived in Europe for long years and witnessed the social change in Turkey. He created and wrote his ideas on art, culture, politics and on intellectual issues. According to the author addressing the language-culture relationship on the basis of nationalism, creation of a national synthesis of culture would be the way for completing Ataturk’s revolutions which had been left incomplete. This synthesis is essential for all societies and tried to be established by the Western societies. Only a nationalistic approach which refrains from imitation and remains loyal to its originals would be able to form this synthesis. The aim of the study is to find out how Attila İlhan, a Turkish intellect, addressed the concepts of language and culture within the framework of a nationalistic approach. Furthermore, the concept of “cultural compound” obtained by Attila İlhan through thesis and antithesis approach will be discussed within the framework of his works.

Violence has continued to be an important social problem from the past to the present. Of course, it is not only women who are subjected to violence. However, women have undoubtedly been the most exposed to violence since the past, and this has brought women to mind. Violence is a social problem. Since the past, there are gender roles attributed to women and men by society. There are many studies to explain the causes of violence. If the causes of violence are handled differently in each source, they have more in common. Many factors such as the economic situation of people, their living conditions, the environment they live in and the family structure play a role in the formation of violence. While the general perception of men in society is that of looking at the house, holding authority and power, the perception of women is less free than the male, listening to the word of the man, and the most important duty is to look at his home and his family. Clearly, this male-dominated structure is one of the causes of violence. Whatever the type and cause of violence, it is a condition that deeply affects the person who is subjected to violence psychologically. In the family, the woman who has been subjected to violence from her husband, her child or other family members feels guilt after trauma. Although some victims of violence share various types of support with their environment, it is evident that there are still women who hide that they are exposed to violence and do not receive any support. The aim of this study was to evaluate the relationship between trauma-related guilt levels and psychological resilience of women exposed to domestic violence. In this context, the types of violence, possible causes of violence, domestic violence, domestic violence against women are examined. On the other hand, the feelings of guilt, psychological resilience, coping with trauma-related guilt, psychological resilience in coping and coping support systems are emphasized.

News articles about all of the Eurasian countries in the newspapers of Sözcü, Sabah and Hürriyet which have the highest circulation were examined on the basis of content analysis method for three months. There wasn’t a directly proportional increase or decrease in the news articles about the countries in this region in the three-month period. Especially, political, social and economic developments triggered the increase in the number of news articles. The fact that the majority of the news articles between the examined dates consists of negative news and the countries of which most of the news articles were about Russia, France, Germany, China and Saudi Arabia and producing fewer news articles on the Turkic countries such as Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan, Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan which have similarities with Turkey in terms of language, religion and race presented a thought-provoking result. It is considered that the appearance of the Turkic countries in the media in a more positive way would both strengthen the existent ties between Turkey and the Turkic countries and create a positive image about these countries for Turkish citizens. Furthermore, the words that were used in the headlines of the news reports consist of words such as destroyed, quaked, took lives, dead, abduction, resignment, we fail, organization, they destroyed, treaty and cruelty which are parallel to the ratio of negative news reports. The actors in the news reports as the subjects were mainly politicians. Among the subjects that were discussed in the news reports, cultural subjects came after the political, military and economic subjects.

Children are one of the indispensable subjects in the history of photography since the invention. The children who are the symbol of future, life energy, creativity, freedom, mischief, loveliness, innocence, etc. have attracted the attention of photographers in every period with their unique worlds, their naturalness in expression and behavior. This has led to a number of discussions in the context of children's rights. When the images of children in need of care and protection are taken and shared, attention must be paid to all negative elements that could harm them both pedagogically and psychologically. Children's rights should not be underestimated in order to attract public attention, increase ratings, gain commercial success or achieve a good career. The approach of photographers to children and the way children are represented in photography is an important issue that needs to be emphasized. This article aims to analyze a series of photographs that take an important place in the history of photography or have attracted attention in contemporary photography practices, in terms of form and content, to analyze the relationship between each other and to evaluate them in the context of children's rights. This study, which includes text and work analysis on the subject, aims to raise awareness on the ways children are visualized and contribute to theoretical research.

The beginning of the nineteenth century was an exciting period for photography. At the beginning of this century, a number of artists, scientists and amateurs were experimenting simultaneously with the discovery of photography in different geographies. They wanted to create a permanent image on the surface with various chemicals. The growing curiosity about the world and the environment began as steps to different alternative photographic processes as a desire to record this need through different photographic methods. In Daguerreotype technique, the first of these, they tried to capture the images they perceived as faint and faintly on the camera and they succeeded one more step in every attempt. Very early Daguerreotype studies appeared as a pioneering photographic process from 1839 to the end of 1842. During this period, different photographic processes were widely used and discussed. In this period, Mathew Brady would create many stories with faded, gray-colored portraits on his mirrored surfaces in order to realize the experience of producing Daguerreotype portraits like other artists, scientists and entrepreneurs.

Necmettin b. Sivâr Who lived in Damascus in the seventeenth century. Sivâr was a prominent Sufi poet who had been found in the ring of Shihabuddin Suhrawarddi (d.66 / 1234), one of the most prominent Sufis of the period, and who was influenced by Hariri, who was one of the controversial names of the time. The Syrian Arab Language Institute made a survey in 2009 and completed this research with the reappearance of Sivâr's academic journalists in the Arab world and made a lot of research about him in a short time. The poems which he uses in his poems have a similar approach to poetry as he says in his poems, as he shows in his poems, because the poems of Sivâr intensely show divine love, wahdat-i Body, and ecstatic as Ibn Farid's poems. Even in Sivâr's poems, it is seen that the emphasis of wahdat-i vucut has been repeated many times with a very pronounced and strong accent. This article will examine the poet's divan in terms of Sufi content. Vahdet-kesret, which is more prominent in the Sufistic literature; The relation of the God-world has been paid more attention. In the introduction section, we have been informed about the life of the Sufi poet Sivâr, whom we see as not working in academic circles in our country, and the academic studies in the Arab world have been referred. Later on, the mystical elements that stand out in the divan of the poet have been subject to classification

The proximity of the Mongolian Empire to Krakurum and the appointmend of the Khans by the Mongolian Khan are a factor in this situation. As a motter of fact the Chagatai Khanate which gained its independence in the period of Kebek Khan in 1318, was able to take its first steps towards independence by benefiting from the struggle of the Arık Buka-Kublai brothers in the Mongol State before Kebek. In this step, the activities of Algu Khan were undoubtedly of great importance.

The developments after the Second Constitutional Monarchy first resulted in the implementation of the liberal economic approach which was reflected in the program of the Committee of Union and Progress and then in the politics of the country. This understanding was seen as an important way out of the welfare of the society, which had to be saved from a closed economic understanding. This liberal and political rhetoric failed to a great extent as separatist movements gained momentum during the years of the Balkan disaster and led to significant changes in the economic understanding of the party in a short period of time. Thus, encouraging the Muslim Turkish element to establish a company became one of the main objectives. The party organization, which had begun to actively pave the way for the establishment of «national» companies, organized the society and prepared the environment for the emergence of a national economic understanding in trade. The economic nationalism followed by the Committee of Union and Progress during the war years and the policies developed as a result of this led to the disruption of the effectiveness of the non-Muslim element within the Ottoman trade bourgeoisie and the domination of domestic and foreign trade to a significant extent by the Muslim Turkish element. In this article, an evaluation was made about the İtibar-ı Milli Bankasi (National Credit Bank) (1917), which was established in order to contribute to the development of a bourgeoisie type based on the dominant element in Anatolia, and the process from the debates during the foundation phase of the bank to the İş Bankası (Work Bank or the Business Bank) was evaluated.

Incentive, incentive systems and incentive policies developed within the framework of these systems are presented in a supportive way to conduct studies throughout the country. In this way, employment is increased, the current deficit is reduced and the regional development gap is reduced. Numerous factors can be included in the expressed elements. The general characteristics of these factors are the working integrity that will contribute to the development of the countries. The development of countries, especially in regions, should include effective processes, and should include processes that will help to achieve more effective results. The working profiles of countries in general also develop in this direction. Example, when expressed, be in excess of investments for the services sector in developed countries, services are generally encouraged in Turkey is preparing to be positioned on the environment sector. This trend has shown continuity for a certain period of time and it is stated that firms should create incentive systems in this direction. Accordingly, the main trends in the work processes should include the characteristics of work that depend on the positions of the countries. Developer-focused studies are important. Within the framework of the study, it was ensured that the incentives were examined in general and investment incentives were evaluated. Investment incentives were examined on a sectoral basis and the activities of the regions were followed. This aspect, in Turkey especially when they should be encouraged in the developing or less developed regions have been shown to promote the implementation of more advanced areas. However, the general scope of the incentives should be particularly focused on the region with little development. From this point of view, the characteristics of auditing policies in investment incentives are examined and importance of auditing by on-site management practices and management systems created by independent organizations is stated. In auditing, it is important to specify the characteristics of auditing by independent organizations in the legal scope, and to follow this situation in working trends and to implement an interactive audit. On the other hand, these supervisory works are more important in the incentives that the state provides direct cash flow. For this reason, the position of independent auditors is important in terms of avoiding such elements as fraud and creating investment trust.
