Abstract
Vatansever olma konusunda eğitim, kültür, aile ve çevre koşulları etkilidir. Bu çalışmanın amacı, sosyal bilgiler öğretmen adaylarının vatanseverlik anlayışlarını ortaya koymaktır. Çalışma, 2017-2018 bahar yarıyılında Fırat Üniversitesi Eğitim fakültesinde gerçekleştirilmiştir. Çalışma grubu, 24 sosyal bilgiler öğretmen adayından oluşmaktadır. Genel tarama türünde olan çalışmada, yarı yapılandırılmış görüşme formuyla veriler toplanmıştır. Elde edilen veriler, betimsel analiz tekniği kullanılarak çözümlenmiştir. Çalışmanın bulgularına göre, öğretmen adayları vatanseverliği kişinin ülkesini, bayrağını ve insanlarını sevmesi ve sahiplenmesi, ülkenin ilerlemesi için bireylerin çaba sarf etmesi ve sorumluluk bilinci olarak tanımlamışlardır. Öğretmen adayları vatansever olduklarını vurgulayarak, sorumluluklarının bilincinde olduklarını ve vatansever öğrenciler yetiştirmek istediklerini belirtmişlerdir. Öğretmen adaylarına göre vatansever olup olmamanın arkasındaki nedenler ise, toplumun değerleriyle ilgili olduğu, vatanını sevmeyenin bencil ve sorumsuz olduğunu ve vatanseverliğin bilinçli olmakla ilgili olduğu açıklanmıştır.

Education, culture, family and environmental factors are effective on patriotism. The aim of the present study was to determine the views of pre-service social studies teachers on patriotism. The study was carried out in Fırat University, Faculty of Education during the 2017-2018 academic year spring semester. The study group, included 24 pre-service social studies teachers. In the study, general scanning was used. Data were collected with a semi-structured interview form. The study data were analyzed with the descriptive analysis technique. Based on the study findings, pre-service teachers described patriotism as the love of citizens for their country, flag and compatriots, and their efforts for the progress of the country and their awareness about their responsibilities. The pre-service teachers emphasized that they were patriotic and stated that they were aware of their responsibilities and wanted to train patriotic students. According to the pre-service teachers, the reasons behind patriotism or non-patriotism were associated with social values, and those who were not patriotic were selfish and irresponsible and patriotism was associated with awareness.
