Abstract
Konyalı Mehmed Vehbi Efendi, (1862-1949) Cumhuriyet döneminde yaşamış ilim ve siyaset adamıdır. Müfessir ve mebûs kimliğine hâizdir. İlim ve siyaset alanında döneminin etkin isimlerinden olan Vehbi Efendi’nin tefsîr, hadîs ‘akâid alanlarında önemli eserleri bulunmaktadır. Tefsîr alanındaki en önemli eseri Hulâsatu’l-Beyân fî Tefsîri’l-Kur’ân’dır. Vehbi’nin pek çok tefsîrden faydalanarak hazırlamış olduğu bu eser geniş bir hacme sahip olmasının yanı sıra zengin bir içeriğe sahiptir. Rivâyet ve dirâyet yöntemlerinin birlikte kullanıldığı eserin incelenmesi gereken pek çok yönü bulunmaktadır. Eserin dikkat çekici özelliklerinden bir tanesi Müfessir’in bazı âyetleri Türkçe’de ve Arapça’da kullanılan atasözü/darbı mesel ve özlü sözlerle tefsîr etmesidir. Bu çalışma Vehbi Efendi’nin âyetleri tefsîr ederken atasözleri ve özlü sözleri nasıl ve ne amaçla kullandığını incelemeyi amaçlamaktadır. Çalışmamızın giriş bölümünde Vehbi Efendi’nin hayatı, ilmî ve siyâsi yönü kısaca ele alınmış aynı zamanda tefsîri Hulâsatu’l-Beyân’ın genel özellikleri anlatılmıştır. Daha sonra “atasözü/darb-ı mesel” ve “özlü söz” kavramları üzerinde durularak ardından tefsîrde geçen atasözü ve özlü sözlerin kullanım yöntemi ortaya konulmuştur. Vehbi Efendi’nin âyetleri, atasözü ya da özlü sözlerle bütünsel olarak nasıl ilişkilendirdiği, âyetle kullandığı sözün mâna itibariyle irtibatlı olup olmadığı tespit edilmeye çalışılmıştır.

Abstract
Konyalı Mehmed Vehbi Efendi (1862-1949) was a scientist and politician who lived during the Republic period. He has the identity of a commentator and a member of parliament. Vehbi Efendi, one of the influential names of his period in the fields of science and politics, has important works in the fields of tafsir and hadith. His most important work in the field of tafsîr is Hulâsatu'l-Beyân fî Tefsîri'l-Kur’ân. This work, which Vehbi prepared by making use of many tafsir, has a rich content as well as having a large volume. The work, in which narration and insight methods are used together, has many aspects that need to be examined. One of the remarkable features of the work is that the Commentator interprets some verses with proverbs and aphorisms used in Turkish and Arabic. This study aims to examine how and for what purpose Vehbi Efendi used proverbs and aphorisms while interpreting the verses. In the introduction part of our study, Vehbi Efendi’s life, scientific and political aspects are briefly discussed, and the general features of his commentary, Hulâsatu’l-Beyân, are explained. Then, the concepts of “proverb/parable” and “aphorism” were emphasized, and then the usage method of the proverbs and aphorisms mentioned in the tafsir was revealed. It has been tried to determine how Vehbi Efendi holistically relates the verses to proverbs or aphorisms, and whether the verse and the word he uses are related in meaning.
