MUSTAFA KEMAL PASHA KAZIM KARABEKIR PASHA SOLIDARITY FROM ISTANBUL TO ERZURUM ON THE WAY TO THE STRUGGLE FOR INDEPENDENCE

Abstract
Dec April 11, 1919, the first meeting was held in Istanbul between two important figures of the National Struggle period, Mustafa Kemal Pasha and Kazım Karabekir Pasha, to start the liberation struggle by crossing to Anatolia. Immediately after the meeting, Karabekir Pasha departed from Istanbul on the 15th. He went to Erzurum as a Corps Commander. Then the 9th. Mustafa Kemal Pasha, who was appointed Inspector of the Army, also went to Samsun on May 19, 1919. Shortly after decamping to Samsun, on May 21, Kazim Karabekir Pasha was informed that he had arrived in Anatolia and thus the process of cooperation and solidarity between the two also began. Mustafa Kemal Pasha consulted Karabekir Pasha on almost every important issue, asked his opinion and informed him about the developments. Karabekir Pasha, both militarily with the 15 Corps under his command, and politically supported the Amasya Tamimi in the creation of the decisions of the Erzurum Congress and the convening of the Sivas Congress, Mustafa Kemal Pasha has been the mainstay. The understanding of cooperation and solidarity between these two heroic commanders of the National Struggle played a decisive role in the decisiveness of Mustafa Kemal Pasha in continuing and consolidating the leadership of the National Struggle and achieving success in the struggle.
