Abstract

Bu araştırmanın amacı velilerin psikolojik sağlamlık düzeylerinin zihinsel yetersizliği olan ya da olmayan çocuğa sahip olma durumuna ve çeşitli değişkenlere göre farklılık gösterip göstermediğinin değerlendirilmesidir. Velilerin psikolojik sağlamlıklarını zihinsel yetersizliği olan çocuğa sahip olup/olmama durumuna göre değerlendiren bir araştırmaya daha önce rastlanmamıştır. Velilerin psikolojik sağlamlık düzeylerinin yaşadıkları zorlu olaylar karşısında farklılaşabileceği öngörülmektedir. Zihinsel yetersizliği olan çocuğa sahip çocuğu ailelerin çeşitli zorluklar yaşadıkları ve yaşanan bu zorlu süreçlerden kaynaklı ailelerin psikolojik sağlamlıklarının etkileneceği düşünülmektedir. Bu çalışma zihinsel yetersizliği olan ve olmayan öğrenciye sahip velilerin psikolojik sağlamlık düzeylerinin karşılaştırılmasının incelenmesi bakımından önemli bir yere sahiptir. Nicel bir çalışma olan bu araştırma ilişkisel tarama yöntemi kullanılarak tasarlanmıştır. Araştırmanın örneklemine ulaşmak amacıyla basit örneklem yöntemi kullanılmıştır. Araştırmada 190 veliden veri toplanmıştır. Araştırma verilerine ulaşmak amacıyla araştırmacı tarafından hazırlanmış demografik bilgi formu ile Psikolojik Sağlamlık Ölçeği kullanılmıştır. Araştırma verilerinin analizinde SPSS 26 paket programı kullanılmıştır. Araştırma sonucuna göre zihinsel yetersizliği olan çocuğa sahip olan velilerin psikolojik sağlamlığı daha düşük olduğu, zihinsel yetersizliği olan çocuğu olanlar içinde kadınların psikolojik sağlamlıklarının erkeklere göre daha düşük olduğu, yine bir işte çalışanlara göre çalışmayan velilerin psikolojik sağlamlığı daha düşük olduğu anlaşılmıştır. Öğrencilerin eğitsel tanılarına göre velilerin psikolojik sağlamlık düzeylerine bakıldığında en düşük psikolojik sağlamlığı olan velilerin otizm spektrum bozukluğu olan çocuğa sahip velilerin olduğu, yine ikinci sırada zihinsel yetersizliği olan çocuğa sahip velilerin olduğu ve ardından diğer tanı gruplarına sahip çocuğu olan veliler gelmektedir.

The aim of this study is to evaluate whether the psychological resilience levels of the parents differ according to the status of having a child with or without intellectual disability and various variables. No research has been found before that evaluates the psychological resilience of parents according to whether or not they have a child with intellectual disability. It is predicted that the psychological resilience levels of the parents may differ in the face of the difficult events they experience. It is thought that families with children with intellectual disabilities experience various difficulties and the psychological resilience of families will be affected by these difficult processes. This study has an important place in terms of examining the comparison of psychological resilience levels of parents with and without intellectual disability. This research, which is a quantitative study, was designed using the associational corelation research method. Simple sampling method was used to reach the sample of the study. Data were collected from 190 parents in the study. In order to reach the research data, the demographic information form prepared by the researcher and the Psychological Resilience Scale were used. SPSS 26 package program was used in the analysis of the research data. According to the results of the research, it has been understood that the psychological resilience of the parents who have children with intellectual disabilities is lower, the psychological resilience of women with children with mental disabilities is lower than men, and the psychological resilience of non-working parents is lower than those who work in a job. Considering the psychological resilience levels of the parents according to the educational diagnoses of the students, it is seen that the parents with the lowest psychological resilience have a child with a child with autism spectrum disorder, the second is the parents with a child with an intellectual disability, followed by the parents with a child with other diagnosis groups.
