Abstract
Bu araştırmanın amacı, okul yöneticilerinin seçim sürecinde adaylarda bulunması gereken nitelikler ve kariyer geçmişlerine ilişkin kriterlerin neler olduğunu tespit etmektir. Tarama modelinde olan araştırmanın çalışma grubunu Ordu il merkezinde görev yapan 9 okul müdürü oluşturmuştur.
Araştırma sonuçlarına göre; okul yöneticilerinin okul yönetiminde profesyonelleşmesinin okulun istenilen gelişimine katkı sağlayacağını okul yöneticilerinin okul yönetiminde profesyonelleşmeyi engelleyen sorunların kanun ve yönetmeliklerden kaynaklandığını, profesyonelleşmenin sağlanabilmesi için kanun ve yönetmeliklerle okul yöneticiliğinin meslek olarak tanımlanması gerektiği, okul yönetiminde profesyonelleşmenin kişinin ehliyetli sahibi olmasına benzetebildiği ve alanda profesyonelleşme sağlandığı zaman yöneticilerin de daha çok işlerinin ehli olacağı ve okulda verimin artacağı görülmektedir.

Abstract
The purpose of this research is to determine the qualifications that school administrators should have in candidates in the selection process and what are the criteria regarding their career history. The study group of the research, which is in the scanning model, consisted of 9 school principals working in the city center of Ordu.
According to the research results; The professionalization of school administrators in school administration will contribute to the desired development of the school, that the problems that prevent professionalization in school administration are caused by laws and regulations, that school administration should be defined as a profession in order to ensure professionalization, that professionalization in school administration can be likened to a competent owner, and that when professionalization is provided, administrators can also it is seen that they will be more competent and the efficiency in school will increase.
