Abstract
Ülkemiz ve Dünya’nın başat vatandaş yetiştirme dersi olan Sosyal Bilgiler, yeni yüzyılda önemli sorumluluklar ve görevler üstlenmiştir. Sosyal bilgiler; temel amacını gençlere yardım etmek ve onları kültürel açıdan dünya vatandaşları olarak geleceğe hazırlamak olarak görmektedir. Gençler geleceğe hazırlanırken en temel görevlerinden biri de okumaktır. Bu çalışmanın amacı; Sosyal Bilgiler öğretmen adayları, öğretmenleri ve lisansüstü öğrencilerine okuma önerileri sunmaktır. Araştırmanın yöntemi çalışmadaki sorun ve problemi bütüncül bir şekilde ortaya koyan nitel araştırmadır. Araştırmaya çeşitli üniversitelerden 33 akademisyen katılmıştır. Araştırmanın verileri içerik analizi yoluyla çözümlenmiştir. Araştırmada sunulan okuma listesi önerisi; alan eğitimi, meslek bilgisi ve genel kültür kategorilerine ayrılarak sunulmuştur.

Abstract
Social Studies, which is the dominant citizen training lesson of our country and the world, has undertaken important responsibilities and duties in the new century. Social Studies; see its main purpose as helping young people and preparing them for the future as world citizens culturally. While preparing for the future, one of the most basic tasks of young people is to read. The aim of this study is to provide reading suggestions to Social Studies teacher candidates, teachers and graduate students. The method of the research is qualitative research that reveals the problem and problem in the study in a holistic manner. 33 academicians from various universities participated in the study. The data of the research were analyzed through content analysis. In the reading list proposal presented in the research; it is presented in categories such as field education, vocational knowledge and general culture.
