Abstract
Bu çalışmada, sosyal bilgiler öğretmen adaylarının öğretmenlik mesleklerinin ilk yıllarına ilişkin olası benlikleri ile öğretmenlik mesleklerini tercih etme öğretmen mesleğine uygun olma ve öğretmenliği sevme özellikleri arasındaki ilişkilerin incelenmesi amaçlanmıştır. Amaç ve alt sorulara uygun olarak çalışma ilişkisel tarama modeli deseninde tasarlanmıştır. Çalışma, 2017-2018 öğretim yılı güz döneminde Türkiye’deki bir eğitim fakültesinde öğrenim gören 180 öğretmen adayı ile gerçekleştirilmiştir. Çalışma verilerinin analizinde Mann Whitney U testi, yüzde frekans, Kruskal Wallis tekniklerinden faydalanılmıştır. Araştırma bulguları sosyal bilgiler öğretmen adaylarının olası öğretmen benliklerinin mesleğe uygun olma, mesleği tercih etme faktörü ve sosyal bilgiler öğretmenliğini sevme olgularına bağlı olarak anlamlı farklılıklar oluşturduğunu ortaya koymaktadır.

Abstract
In this study, it is aimed to investigate the relationship between the possible selves of social studies teacher candidates in the first years of their teaching profession and preferring teaching profession, being suitable for teaching profession and loving teaching. In accordance with the purpose and sub-questions, the study was designed in a relational survey model design. The study was carried out by 180 teacher candidates studying at a faculty of education in Turkey in the fall semester of the 2017-2018 academic year. Mann Whitney U test, percentage frequency and Kruskal Wallis test were used in the analysis of the study data. The findings of the study reveal that prospective teachers' possible selves show significant differences according to being suitable for the profession, preferring the profession and loving social studies teaching.
