Abstract
Engellilik, bireyin çeşitli fiziksel, sosyal, zihinsel vb. durumlarından dolayı tam anlamıyla sosyal yaşama adapte olamamasıdır. Bu çalışmada, zihinsel engelli çocuklara yönelik eğitim politikaları incelenmiş olup bu konuda yaşanılan güçlükler araştırılmıştır. Araştırmanın amacı, zihinsel engelli çocuklara yönelik olarak uygulanan kaynaştırma politikasının ne derece faydalı olduğunu görmek ve bu anlamda uygulamanın daha etkili olabilmesi için neler yapılacağını araştırmaktır. Araştırmada, ülkemizdeki kaynaştırma politikaları ve bu politikaları uygularken karşılaşılan zorluklar incelenmiştir. Bu çalışma Karabük ilinde 5 kişiye yapılmıştır. Bu amaca yönelik olarak zihinsel engelli çocukların eğitimi ile ilgili olarak 5 kişiye 5 tane açık uçlu soru yöneltilmiştir. Bireylerin sorulara verdiği yanıtlar nitel araştırma tekniklerinden birisi olan derinlemesine mülakat tekniği kullanılarak yorumlanmıştır. Araştırma neticesinde, bireylerin kaynaştırma politikasına ilişkin düşünceleri incelenerek çalışma sonlandırılmıştır.

Abstract
Disability, the individual's various physical, social, mental and so on. due to the fact that they cannot be fully adapted to social life. In this study, educational policies for mentally retarded children were examined and the difficulties experienced in this subject were investigated. The aim of the study is to see how beneficial the mainstreaming policy for children with mental disabilities is, and to investigate what can be done in order to make the practice more effective. In the study, the inclusion policies in Turkey and the difficulties encountered in implementing these policies were examined. This study was carried out in 5 people in Karabük province. For this purpose, 5 open-ended questions were asked to 5 people about the education of children with mental disabilities. The answers of the individuals to the questions were interpreted by using in-depth interview technique which is one of the qualitative research techniques. As a result of the study, the opinions of individuals about the mainstreaming policy were examined and the study was terminated.
