Abstract
İtibarî temeller üzerine kurgulanan romanlar, tarihî süreçte felsefi ve edebî akımların etkisiyle daha gerçekçi bir hâle gelir. Bu süreçte değişiklik gösteren roman unsurlarından kişiler sayı olarak azalır, tek boyutluluktan çok boyutlu bir yapıya bürünür. Zamanla anlatının kişileri kurgunun en önemli unsurlarından biri olarak ve eserin kimliğini oluşturur. Söz konusu romanların çocuklar için kaleme alındığı düşünülürse, özellikle karakter seçimi ve karakterlerin geliştirilmesinde daha dikkatli ve titiz olunması gerekir. Bu hassasiyeti eserlerinde uygulamaya çalışan önemli çocuk edebiyatı yazarlarından biri de Muzaffer İzgü’dür. İzgü, izlenimciliği ve kendine has mizahî üslubuyla çocuklar için yazdığı eserleriyle okuyucuları güldürürken düşündürmeyi de ihmal etmez. Roman kişilerini seçerken de hayata olumlu bakan ve okuyucunun kolayca özdeşim kurabileceği karakterler yaratmaya çalışır. İlgiyle okunan yazarın eserlerinde karakterlerin nasıl seçilip kurgulandığı, merak konusu olmuştur. Bu çalışmada Muzaffer İzgü’nün çocuk romanlarındaki karakterlerin geliştirme biçimleri, nitelikleri ve çeşitleri üzerinde durulmuştur. Araştırma evreni, İzgü’nün çocuk romanları olarak belirlenen çalışmada, örneklem olarak da Ökkeş Kapıcı, Can Dayım, Kabakçı Amca, Uçtu Uçtu Ali Uçtu, Ekmek Parası ve Kuşadalı Metin Kaptan adlı eserleri seçilmiştir. Çalışmada, nitel araştırma yöntemlerinden doküman (belge) inceleme yöntemine başvurulmuştur.

Abstract
The novels which are constructed on conventional bases have a more realistic structure with the effect of philosophical and literary movements in the historical process. Within this process, the persons, which are one of the novel elements showing a change, decrease in number and turn into a multi-dimensional structure from the one dimensional structure. In time, the persons of the narrative become one of the most important elements of fiction and form the identity of the work. Taking into account that mentioned novels are written for children, it is especially necessary to be more careful and meticulous while selecting and developing the characters. Muzaffer İzgü is one of the important children's literature writers who try to apply this sensitivity in his works. Thanks to his impressionist feature and unique humorous style, İzgü doesn't neglect to make the readers to think while entertaining in his works written for the children. He tries to create positive characters with whom the readers can easily form an identification. The question how the characters are chosen and fictionalized in the works of the writer which are read curiously has been a matter of interest. In this study, the development ways, qualifications and types of the characters in the children's novels of Muzaffer İzgü and are analyzed. The universe of the study was determined as the children novels of the author and the books such as Ökkeş Kapıcı, Can Dayım, Kabakçı Amca, Uçtu Uçtu Ali Uçtu, Ekmek Parası ve Kuşadalı Metin Kaptan were cited as examples. In this study, means of documentation research method, which is one of the qualitative research methods is used.
