Abstract
Dil, millet olmanın en temel unsurudur. Milli birliğin oluşmasında dil birliği çok önemli bir etkeni meydana getirmiştir. Bir milleti diğer milletlerden ayıran hususiyetler arasında yer alan inanç, anane ve tüm kültürel değerin oluşması ve aktarılmasında dil vazgeçilmez bir öneme sahiptir. Dil bir milletin varlığının göstergesini oluşturur. Bireyler arasında anlaşma zemini yaratarak, ortak gelecek idealini canlı tutan da dildir. Dil, toplumu benzer hissiyatlar ve fikirler çerçevesinde bir araya getirir. Dil, milli topluluğun ortak çatı altında birleşmesini sağlar. Böylelikle bu topluluğun devlet olma özelliğini de güçlendirir. Hâkim dilin resmi dil haline gelmiş olması vatandaşlık kavramını da güçlendirir. Modern milli devletin varlığını güvenceye alan resmi dilin kapsayıcı olmasıdır. Ülke içinde farklı dillerin resmi dile alternatif haline gelmesi milli birliği tehdit eder. Türk dili oldukça köklü bir geçmişe ve güçlü yapısal özelliklere sahiptir. Bütün Türk topluluklarında aralarındaki farklılıklara rağmen aynı kökten gelen dil konuşulmaktadır. İlerleyen süreçte, bütün Türk topluluklarında ortak anlaşmayı sağlamak gerekmektedir. Ortak dilin geliştirilmesi Türk coğrafyasında farklı diğer ortaklıkların ve birliklerin de yolunu açacak önemli bir unsur olacaktır. Bu çalışmada, dilin önemi, milli devletin oluşum sürecinde dilin rolü, milli toplulukların varlığı ve bütünlüğünün sağlanmasında milli dilin önemi üzerinde durulmaktadır.

Abstract
Language is the most basic element of being a nation. The language unity in the formation of the national unity has brought a very important influence. The language, which is one of the characteristics distinguishing a nation from other nations, has an indispensable prescription in the formation and transmission of the ancestor and all cultural value. Language constitutes a sign of the existence of a nation. It is also the one that keeps the common future ideal alive by creating an agreement ground between individuals. Language brings society together in the framework of similar feelings and ideas. The language allows the national community to unite under a common roof. In this way, it strengthens the community as a state. The fact that the dominant language has become an official language strengthens the concept of citizenship. It is the official language that guarantees the existence of the modern national state. The fact that different languages are becoming an alternative to the official language in the country threatens the national unity. The Turkish language has a long-established history and strong structural features. Despite the differences among all Turkish communities, the same fundamental language is spoken. In the process of progress, it is necessary to provide a common understanding in all Turkish communities. The development of the common language will be an important element that will open the way for other partnerships and associations in the Turkish geography. This study focuses on the importance of national language in the provision of language, the role of language in the process of formation of the national state, and the existence and integrity of national communities.
