Abstract
Fransa, Afrika Kıtası’nda Kuzey ve Batı Afrika ile Ekvator Afrikası olarak isimlendirilen topraklara hâkim olmuş ve bu bölgeler üzerinde kurduğu hâkimiyetini hem askeri olarak hem de bölgenin Fransızlaştırılması şeklinde nitelendirilebilecek bir dizi faaliyetler aracılığı ile korumaya ve devam ettirmeye çalışmıştır. Bu çerçevede Fransa’nın 1830 yılında işgal ettiği Cezayir’de yürütülen tüm bu politikaların muhatabı olmuş ve bunlardan birinci derecede etkilenmiştir. Cezayir’in Fransız sömürgeleri içindeki en önemli özelliği ise Cezayir’in, Fransa’nın “Anavatan’a bağlı” denizaşırı toprağı olarak değerlendirilmesi olmuştur. Fransa, bu politikalar çerçevesinde hem bölge halkını hem de yönetimi istediği şekilde yönlendirebilmek maksadı ile kolonyalist faaliyetlere öncelik vererek halkın tedricen Fransızlaştırılmasını amaçlamış, eğitim aracılığı ile de Fransız kültürünü ve dilini benimsetmeye ve yaymaya çalışmıştır.

Abstract
France in the African continent became dominant the territories called North and West Africa and Ecuadorian Africa and its dominance over these regions tried to preserve and maintain through a series of activities that could be described as both military and Frenchization of the region. İn this frame, in Algeria, which occupied by France in 1830, with all of these policies were engaged and affected at first degree. The most important feature of Algeria inside the French colonies is that Algeria regarded as the overseas land “connected to the mother country" of France. İn the framework of these policies, France aimed to progressively Frenchize the public by giving priority to colonialist activities which with the aim of being able to direct both the people of the region and the administration as desired and tried to adopt and spread French culture and language through education.
