Bulgular, alandaki üretimin 2016 sonrasında belirgin biçimde yoğunlaştığını (son on yıl tüm üretimin %64'ü), makalelerin baskın belge türü olduğunu (%69,3) ve çalışmaların yarıdan fazlasının açık erişimli olduğunu (%55,6) göstermektedir. Tematik yapı yüksek düzeyde dağınıktır; müzik eğitimi genel başlığı baskın olmakla birlikte müzik bilişi/nörobilimi, müzikoloji, müzik teknolojisi ve müzik terapisi belirgin akımlar olarak öne çıkmaktadır. Kurumsal üretim de dağınıktır (200 kurumun %78'i tek yayın). Tartışma bölümünde, haritalanan tematik yapı; çalgı eğitimini özgüven, form-teknik analiz ve mesleki doyum boyutlarında ele alan ulusal alanyazınla ilişkilendirilmektedir.
Instrumental music education is a multi-component field extending from the student's affective development to the technical-structural analysis of the work and the educator's professional well-being. This study aims to map the international scholarly output of the field through a descriptive bibliometric performance analysis. Data were retrieved on 15 August 2026 from the fully open OpenAlex index via a multi-phrase query over the title and abstract fields; a dataset (corpus) of 394 works was analysed across the dimensions of publication year, document type, open-access status, primary topic, and institution. Findings show that output intensified markedly after 2016 (the last decade accounts for 64% of all output), that articles are the dominant document type (69.3%), and that more than half of the works are open access (55.6%). The thematic structure is highly dispersed; while the general heading of music education dominates, music cognition/neuroscience, musicology, music technology, and music therapy emerge as distinct currents. Institutional output is likewise fragmented (78% of 200 institutions have a single work). The discussion relates the mapped thematic structure to the national literature addressing instrument education along the dimensions of self-confidence, form-technical analysis, and job satisfaction.
