Abstract


EVALUATION OF ARABIC WRITTEN EXPRESSION LEVELS OF ARABIC LANGUAGE AND LITERATURE DEPARTMENT STUDENTS

Today, people need to learn one or more foreign languages according to their needs for different reasons such as economic, commercial, military, educational and cultural purposes. In order to overcome this need, universities offer foreign language education in our country as well as special courses. There are four basic skills in learning a foreign language. These; understanding what he reads, understanding what he is listening to, writing and speaking. The Arabic language is a lyrical language that has been taught for centuries. But the process of learning Arabic by non-Arab people can take a long time. Especially one of the problems encountered in Arabic education and training activities in our country is the problem of writing. Because the alphabet of the Arabic language is different from the Turkic language and it causes many troubles that the writing direction is from right to left. All students have to write, read and pronounce Arabic correctly until they graduate from the preparatory classes. Even if they learn other language skills, when they come to the stage of writing, they can suffer difficulties and difficulties in writing proper rules. This study was carried out on 25 students from 3rd grade students studying in the Department of Arabic Language and Literature at the Faculty of Arts and Sciences at Kilis 7 Aralık University. The students who participated in the study, where Arabic written expression levels were evaluated according to the wrong analysis approach, earned the Arabic Language and Literature Department by answering English questions in the university examination. The results of the study were obtained by printing a composition of 250-300 words on the subject "What are your thoughts about Kilis?". Before the data is resolved, a linguistic classification was made to ensure that every mistake was evaluated in its own group. The compositions were examined from four different perspectives to address grammatical, syntactic, word selection and spelling-punctuation errors, and then evaluated by separating two groups: negative transfer errors and linguistic developmental mistakes according to the incorrect analysis approach.
