Abstract


ORGANIZATIONAL SUPPORT PERCEPTION OF SECONDARY SCHOOL TEACHERS

Organizational support means that the individual in the organization is accepted by other individuals in the organization or the managers of the organization, is supported in terms of business life and social processes.Individuals with organizational support have a higher sense of commitment to the organization and individual efforts towards the objectives of the organization.On the other hand, individuals who do not feel organizational support or feel inadequate can be observed having a lower level of organizational commitment, higher desire to quit, and postponing jobs. Teachers working in secondary education institutions, besides dealing with the development and problems of students, may also have problems.In schools and classrooms, it is possible to encounter problems arising from the lack of equipment for education, environmental conditions and the characteristics of teachers.In this process, providing support to teachers by the staff and the managers of the institution increases the motivation of the teachers.In this study, it was aimed to investigate the perceptions of secondary education teachers' organizational support. Scanning method was used in the research. 113 teachers working in secondary education institutions in the central districts of Samsun participated in the study.In the research,organizational support scale consisting of 36 items developed (by Eisenberger and others, 1986) and adapted to Turkish by (Önderoğlu, 2011) was used as data collection tool.SPSS 24 data analysis package program was used in the analysis of the research data.As a result of the research, it was concluded that teachers' perception levels of organizational support were moderate, and their levels of organizational support perception did not differ significantly according to gender, age, professional seniority, marital status and branch variables.In addition, there were differences between the levels of organizational support perception in terms of variable of the period of service and the number of teachers in the school.It has been concluded that the perception of organizational support increases due to the increase in the age of the teachers, and the increase in the number of teachers and professional seniority decreases the perception of the organizational support.
